I'm just sending mails out asking for updates on different cases I have, and most of the people I'm doing legal work for have been left on read by their partners, so they don't have any updates for me.

Also one of them is actively breaking the law, but it's not my business and we need to be friends with them, so it's just something I'll ignore. (It is not a bad law they're breaking, and the consequences are near zero if it's found out, but it makes me sad because it's such a simple thing to keep)

Oh yeah that can be frustrating, not having much to do besides waiting

that is unfortunate, no consequences doesn't mean you should break a law I-
can't understand people like that, especially if it's as you say, very simple to keep
