i do hate the general rule of having to call instead of sending a msg abt being sick cause i, like we all know by now, have phoen anxiety 
i think ive always just sent a msg tho n no one has told me to call instead....

i guess in the sense of ur concern abt a msg not being seen right away i could understand it tho, n if i were to not get a response back within a reasonable amnt of time i would probably call, just so i know boss has seen that i will not be able to show up
so ur boss very strange for not responding.....
