ooooh right right hahahah   yeah i figured for clothing it'd def get pricey.... iirc ur mom spent more than 100+ € for ur sweater right?
yup, the amnt of yarn for my size amounted to ishhh 114 euro (1350 nok) but that was also knitted in double thread so one wool thread n one mohair thread at the same time
but also crocheting uses more yarn than knitting i think
I saw someone make a video on it saying crocheting takes less yarn which makes sense to me because knitting is usually a stretchier and crochet has more holes? Tho it prolly depend on the stitch
i googled n every website + reddit is telling me crochet uses more........... but yes id assume depends on stitch

if i were to make clothing i would probably go for wool yarn instead, which can range from a lil more expensive to a lotta more expensive per skein!!!

Also probably depends on individual tension like if you have tight knit and lose crochet tension

I feel like with crochet also you seldom see patterns that’s completely flat fabric like it’s usually made more to be like thick lace if that makes sense

OOOO i learned some stuff abt this actually !!!!! which is like the only crochet thing i know hahaha
the stitch im doing for the straprs/wrap around things on purses is called tunisian stitch, and tunisian stitch is crochet stitch typically used to imitate knit!!!  which is also why when doing tunisian stitch ud not want to use hook w handle cause tunisian stitch crochet gathers all ur stitches on the hook at the same time like with knitting on a knitting needle!!! but tunisian stitch is not the normal way to crochet ! so yes u r very right !
