oh no you pay a religion tax in Denmark as well? so so lame
I would never
I'd go to the gov just to be like no I do NOT believe I do NOT take a part in anything do NOT tax me for nothing pLEASE
it's a cultural thing !! I think it's nice you can opt-out of it. I think it's like less than 1% or something you pay
I guess it's just a me thing, I am okay with religion but I would never want to pay even a cent for that if it comes to me and my salary
I kinda get that honestly! I have opted-in, not because I'm religious, but because I like the maintenance of churches and most of the danish priests are sane and creating spaces against loneliness, which I think is nice.
(I also lived near a church that did gin and tonic tuesdays, which was nice too)

is the prompt "dead witch walking" specifically, or is it more of a "read a YA book"? if it's the latter you can try to go for something a little more NA-ish, because the genre is still labelled as YA sometimes. Or just read a YA book that feels more adult in writing and themes

A short but very amazing series is Murderbot. I thought I would hate this series when I picked it up, but they're amazing 150-page sci-fi books, and they work really well !

That sounds lovely?? holy moly
I have experienced religion in a way that made it seem really bad for me, only once I encountered this priest back in Israel who was sane and a great person, might be just me but I rarely find sane priests

I am glad to hear that though, good to know religion is still used for good

I read about it a bit and it looks like a book that is the stereotypical YA book with a strong female protagonist who needs no man, hot and powerful as hell
I used to not have a problem with that but there were too many my friend made me read and they all were the same? just different flavours, and I either had enough or it is not for me at all

I mean the description has this in it -
"A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she'll bring 'em back alive, dead ... or undead."
kinda.... yucky

I kinda get that too though! I met my first catholic priest when I was 15 and he was such a terrible person through and through that I just knew I wouldn't touch religion with a ten foot pole if that had been my experience growing up.

I also think protestant (state) churches have evolved a lot due to the lack of religious people in society. They need to renew themselves if they want to continue earning tax money.
