i admire that, i should do that too.
i wish i'd done that with my favourite band. i enjoyed their music so much (still do), it resonated with me so profoundly. then i read the band's biography book, and umm i wish i hadn't. while i know the music i enjoyed was born of pain and loss, i would rather have not known the lengths and emotional depths the songwriter went during the writing process... almost feels illegal to enjoy the music now. i enjoy someone's actual pain and deep suffering?? ew of me

Now I can't hear one of their songs without hating myself for ever being a middle schooler, which is absurd but also I still remember all the lyrics to car radio not having listened to it in years so I don't think I'm ready to forgive myself yet
