oo okok well in previous mario karts each track just existed in like its own vacuum (?) and after completing a track you would like teleport to the next one but in this one in between each race you dive through motorways between each track so now the tracks are all designed to be connected. this is how its used in the normal grand prix mode anyways and i think its really cool seeing the places in between the tracks. of course tho during the races you still have to stay on road like during the main courses and the roads between them, but nintendo also made a free roam mode where you can drive around the whole world no loading screens or off limits places, as well as going of the road no longer making you slower. the game world is very obviously build to centre around driving but it still has a lot to see and there's even a lot of cool places away from any of the tracks or roads between. i guess the free roam mode is less racing and more exploration tho? they made loads of places purely for people to find and theres collectibles and puzzles to complete !!

my other one which is more of a side project but i've shifted my focus onto it for now is a cleaning themed roguelike game where you play as like chibi animal characters and go around people's houses cleaning them while fighting mess monsters and getting through as many houses as you can. story wise you can be either a bunny, deer, or cat (names undecided) and you work for Gus' Cleaning Service. but yeah like a roguelike you just see how far you can get cleaning houses til you die and everything is randomized every playthrough. thats the best i can summarise both :)

Woa i guess that makes sense then, hmm sounds cool yes,, feels less like a party game that way too maybe so maybe more fun to play alone,,, i only ever play mario kart at parties
