It's really dead, or at least that's what I've heard. Someone said it's usually only 10 people online. 
I would personally not get superpass, even though I sometimes really just want to log in and see the site again, because it wouldn't be worth it. gSm will be gone any day. ):
like I've done just as good without gSm but I really miss it when I start thinking about it. I would do close to anything to revive the good old gSm.

the mods gave you an assignment or two each week. I think I was in it for 1 or 2 months only. Then they pulled 4-5 of us out (Me, Little Rude Girl, Unloved_Angel, LUCIFER!, and maybe one other person) because we were "ready" and they needed mods badly, so I wasn't in it for too long. so, assignments were stressful. but i made several new friends, which was awesome. it was probably the highlight of my gsm time. and then my batch of mods had to keep it a secret for weeks because they took forever with our badges, which was killing us.
