Current (old) procedure was clicking on 5 buttons before turning on tv for sound.

It's so shitty. Especially if you cannot do it remotely and have to GET OUT OF THE COUCH to turn on the sound.
If you've grown up with it, you might also know that "something sounds wrong" even though you cannot hear anything different, and then the next 10 minutes are tech supporting the shit out of the setup instead of just watching the movie you wanna watch
