i'm thinking about getting a membership but UHHHH idk how to gym???
idk how to use the machines, the right techniques, i know nothing

so is there staff there that you can ask to get some help? just ask them to show me how to use it and what to think of/what not to think of etc? bc i refuse to go into a gym as a rookie and try everything out on my own bc i'm gonna be embarrassed to death. i'm already gonna be embarrassed as is

i suppose it's different in each country, and even at different gyms in the same country... but generally, you know

Here is a whole guide about gym equipment!

Think about what areas you want to start working on.

I wanted to work on my thighs a lot so I really loved the things like the rear leg extension machine. Most pull up machines have a little chair thingy that you pop up and you can adjust the weight that it holds, so it helps you get up there if you can't do a pull up yet.

If anything, def ask one of the staff, that's their job!

It might be embarrassing at first, but eventually it'll just become a really cathartic part of your day.

EDIT: OH YEAH I liked to split my days up between cardio and strength training, so that might help you too. Like one day, I would run 3 miles and end it with the stair machine thing. And then the next 2 days, I'd focus on strength machines that get arms and back and then legs or whatever.
