has anyone here switched from one uni in country 1 to another in country 2? did you get to keep any of the credits from uni 1 when you started at uni 2? if you feel comfortable sharing, why did you switch and  are you more satisfied with the new uni?

I switched from one uni in country 1 to another in country 2. Unfortunately, I did not keep any of the credits from uni 1.

i switched from a public uni to a public one and i also switched majors. unfortunately i wasn't able to transfer any credits because of the public/private school issues so i had to redo some common units. i didn't really really mind though. i switched university and majors after 1 year of studying because i realized i actually didn't enjoy what i was doing lol and i had to switch uni's because the course i wanted to switch to wasn't offered in my original university. i graduated last november so yeah im pretty satisfied now

was your new major very different from the old one? or what was the reason why you couldn't transfer the credits as ex. minor or elective courses

i like my major and would like to keep it the same, it's just that most of my courses require group work and attending in person, so i'm looking into alternatives with more distance or independent learning options

if it wasn't for the amount of group work, i'd never switch bc my current uni is very good for my major but idk if i can take 4/5 of my courses involving group or pair work for the upcoming at least two years

yes absolutely ! i was moving from maths to psychology so im assuming thats just one of the reasons why i couldn't transfer any credits. still, i was a little disappointed i had to redo some common units but there was nothing i could do. i didn't really bother to ask about the details on why, because at the time i just wanted to start psychology asap. i really didn't want to continue with math at that time lol so doing a minor or electives in psychology was out of the question
