right like im supposed to dedicate my life to work for a future me 50 years from now? whose to say im even alive then, that the society with the systems and safety nets we have now still exists and that it wasnt all for nothing, given the state of the world i just find that very hard to believe idk idc i want to live for todayĀ

latin is so much fun tho.. but man yes i wish we had learned more practical stuff, its incomprehensable to me why that isnt valued more, knowing how to think is essential but so is knowing how to do stuff but you reallyhave to go out of your way to learn those things

entirely off topic but how come i know why some pea flowers are purple and others are white, but i dont know which local plants are edible and have to do actual detective work in order to find out, because no one else knows either thats ssoĀ stupid
every year my entire village gets overgrown with this one weed, and all the garden people wage war against them with god knows what, we could literally just make soupĀ

yes! this would be such useful information to teach!
we have an invasive "weed" here that is literally used to make blood pressure medicine, and is really good for your heart when eaten and people will SET THEIR YARD ON FIRE to get rid of it???

we also get a lot of wild onion which is cool

thats crazy behaviouršŸ˜­ my grandma claims theres wild onions here too but ive never found anyy, i know about a place where theres bear garlic but im not gonna tell a soul, people are so irresponsible and will just pick everything and destory the field
