Mostly because fanfics are paced for "frequent" updates, so in a book the pacing feels way off.
They are also written (usually) by amateurs, not necessarily a negative but I am so sick of reading books and  going "this feels like it was written for ao3/wattpad/fanfic.net" and being right 100% of the time.



I think im just sick of every hobby being monetized now
