I think you underestimate how people from the Nordics deal with lower temperatures, I'm literally wearing a t-shirt now  It's 18.4c 
I forget how cold/not cold 17c is. Don't get me wrong, we get that weather, we used to even get snow, I just live in a hellhole of a city where it's warm and humid and gross.

Idk.. I think the average (outside) temperature in my hometown in the warmest month is 16c

No, I don't want it to grow up. I know it prefers it but it gets limited if it doesn't and it seems like the only way to halt the growth

It is but all my plants are in my room. My mum does have quite a bit of plants around the house though, especially spider plants.
