there is more female player yes
but there's more and more males joining and currently there's less things for males that usual.

I mean, go for it, 
It takes a bit to get a hang of making items, 
And a even longer if you want to be an official designer. 
Making items also takes a lot of time out of your personal life,  so I mean if you really have the time to sacrifice.
