By friend votes, we mean if someone writes to you "can you vote for me or similar" or if you know that this outfit belongs to my friend ..., then I will vote for it.Yes, you have to vote for 15 pieces.

Yes, it can probably be unfair to them and that is unfortunately sad.
Sorry, I just need this spelled out to make sure I'm understanding it right ^^'

So "no friend votes" doesn't mean that I can't vote for someone's outfit just because they're on my friend list, right?
It only applies to sharing the survey to someone outside of the community asking for votes, or like,,, asking for vote swaps via DMs (etc) here?

It just kinda feels like it's such a gray area how it's going to be determined who votes for an outfit because they genuinely like it and the person just happens to be their friend, versus someone who votes for the outfit because it's their friend--
@Biohazard  For example, if we say that Person A is in the contest and Person B is friends with Person A, but does not know what outfit Person A has made, then Person B gets to vote for Person A, but if Person A has written to Person B " can you please vote for me and it's this outfit" or that Person B sees that Person A is wearing that outfit, then Person B must not vote for Person A because then the person will be disqualified if we notice it.
At the same time, Person A is not allowed to write openly in the forum, for example, "could you please vote for me and it's this outfit and link to this link", because then Person A will also be disqualified.
I hope you understand what I mean and that it's clearer.
It's mostly clearer yeah, thank you for taking your time to explain!

But I'd like to give some feedback still, hope that's aight

The  thing I still don't get is that how is anyone gonna know who's seen whom wear what? How will you "notice" that a voter has seen that particular outfit on a player?
Doesn't that also just mean that WWIB fits can't be worn anymore bc then it would literally disqualify everyone from voting that person if they're even slightly active in forums and such?

I do like the idea of including us into the voting process, but rn it kinda feels like it's just making it more unfair towards everyone participating--
For example I too saved my WWIB fit into my profile, bc I was planning on wearing it after I got bored of my current outfit, but now it feels like bc I've shown it, ppl can't vote for it even if they like it, if they've just happened to pop by my page

The only way I feel like this could work with community voting, is that we would DM our fits to an SMT member, but that would still stop people from actually wearing or saving (since the favorite fits can't be made private) their outfits, which... feels like it misses the point of the whole comp

Would also like to add, that some ppl who often join WWIB's have a very distinct style when it comes to their outfits, and sure yes not everyone pays attention to that, but I'd dare to assume there's others than just me who does
(Plus I just really enjoy scrolling through the WWIB submission forum, because I love seeing people's creativity, so some of the usernames and their associated outfits just get memorized)

So for example, by these rules I just can't vote, bc I can recognize a few of the outfits which leaves me with fewer than 15 outfits to choose from
Sure I could lie and say I can't remember who made which outfit, but then we're back with the problem of how it's gonna be decided who's voting genuinely and who's not?

Part of me is thinking this too. I like the concept, but SMT is making this too much with the friend rule. I don’t like the way it reads and how difficult it is to manage the grey areas.

Great to hear and you welcome.

Of course, it's hard to know who has seen whose outfit and so on, and maybe unfortunately it's impossible for us to know if you don't say it outright or we see that someone has linked their outfit in a forum and invites people to vote.
I think the person should be allowed to wear their outfit if s/he wants to, because we can't demand that they can't wear it, but the person can't ask people to vote for it or if someone is friends with the person, you can't vote for it.

To be honest, I haven't seen your outfit and I've already voted for the 15 pieces I like best, but to be honest, when I check your profile now, you haven't written "vote for me and this is the outfit" , so frankly I wouldn't say you've encouraged anyone to vote for you by now putting it on your profile (as you've now openly told us), but unfortunately your friends can't vote for you if they have seen your outfit.

You are right that it would miss the point if you sent it in to one of us, so we have done it through the forum, but made sure that no one outside can see the outfits in the WWIB thread to reduce the risk.
Yes, there may be people who have a certain style that people can recognize. I personally don't know about these, but others may do as you wrote.

Do you remember who made the outfits or not? I think you can vote, but that you should be completely honest and only vote for the ones you like best and not for your friends and for yourself.

I like the idea of including us in the votes! Maybe just to simplify it or make it more "fair" choose the amount of winners first (ex. 10)

5 winners are SMT votes and the other 5 are voted by VP community listing their top 5 fave looks or something so you have a mix of both SMT + "fan favourites" from the community.  (Plus it seems a bit easier to choose when we only have to pick our top favourite looks IMO)

Not sure how that would totally work logistics wise but yeah either that or just post all the looks in a forum and give them a number,  then have VP community vote in a poll and take some of the top favourites into consideration?

Just some thoughts to consider!

We can discuss this that has come up and explain how we can do it.

We have decided that we have 15 winners.

We post everyone's outfit in a survey and it might be difficult to determine which votes are ours and then yours if we split the number.

Simply put, you need to choose your favorite outfits now too, but remember not to vote for yourself or your friends.
Posting outfits in forums is almost the same as posting in a survey.
So I'm a little unsure of how we should do it.

Okie, I'm okay with the format now but just brainstorming some other possible formats!

i mean i check every post in the thread so i know who's who when we're voting (both a habit from when i was in smt collecting the entries, but also i wanna make sure my look does stand out from the rest) even without the names in the survey itself, so would that technically nullify all my votes then lmao? i also recognize people's outfits based on their style due to having joined just about every dress up comp.

despite all that i still vote for fits i think are prettiest - though honestly since i already had to auto-disqualify myself when voting i was technically only voting for the one i thought didn't look the best which i didn't like doing personally ++ if i had friends joining the comp then i couldn't send my votes in due to the 15 vote requirement not being fulfilled.

since you aren't budging from the 15 winners in a 17 participant competition i honestly don't know what to tell you. i still think all 17 should win, or the amount of winners decreased, or the amount of required votes decreased.

i also liked live2shine's suggestion. you could do two separate polls, one internally and one publicly, then first pick the top 5 from the internal vote and then do the same with the public vote but skip over any duplicates and choose whoever comes next. though again since you aren't budging from 15 winners then the amount would have to naturally be increased (from 5 and 5 to 7 and 8 ).

ooooor if you don't want any extra work you could just. keep things the way they were.

Godis, this is the part that makes things very difficult to accept. How can that possibly work out?
