is this a paid position or is it volunteer work?
Account deleted

what can be expected of the hiring process - how long will it approximately take? who decides who gets the position? additional information?
Account deleted

also please dont take this as if i am just here to stir the pot, i am not, want to make that clear

is vp on its last breath or can we expect it to survive for at least a year? just thinking in the sense of getting hired and then a month later vp shuts down, like that would suck

I'll number my answers to which post I'm replying to, hope it all makes sense! If not, please let me know. @cupoftea

1. This is a paid position.

2. We expect the hiring process to be pretty short. We will read applications when they're still open and probably make two 'piles', one for yes, one for no. We can also, depending on how many yesses we have, already see which ones would fit better in our opinion and scratch the other ones, before the deadline has passed.
Depending on how quickly / early people send in their applications, that means we can already get a lot of work done before June 18th. After the deadline, we want to choose as quickly as possible (no more than a week), after which training will begin.
Abby and I will receive the applications, but Etjen will be involved in the entire process, just from behind the scenes. I'm not sure what additional information you want, but if you have more questions, feel free to ask. ^^

3. Honestly, I can't answer this, as that entirely depends on Etjens willingness to keep the site up and running, and the revenue, which is not information we have access to.

4. Willingness to fix the site is not the only factor we have to take into account, but they are all free to apply, ofcourse! A little more insight about that part of VP is not a bad thing to have for an Admin, for sure.

I don't think you should have to include your full name in the application. This is something random people on the internet shouldn't know. You have a contract with Etjen, not with the current Admins. Internet safety is important.

thank you for replying!
since it's a paid position, how many hours of work are expected in a week?
which country's law applies?
I understand if the wage will not be mentioned until later in the hiring process, but is there an estimate of what can be expected?

When will the time come that they will hire like an external professional as an admin, I think that will be very beneficial for the site

@bittersweetmemories

The amount of hours of work a week depends completely on how much time you need to do everything, and might not be the same every week.. There's no set amount of hours. You get paid the same amount of money each month, it's not an hourly rate. As to which laws apply, I'll have to ask Etjen about that, as I am not sure. ^^

I can't disclose the payment amount. @cup
