telling time is very easy even from a distance because all you have to do is know how to count by fives (5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45)

look at the hour hand (short one)  for the exact hour

then go to the 12 and as you're going around the big numbers of the clock count by fives until you reach the minute hand (the long one)

then you can guestimate by the little ticks

I'm very bad at math but for me it was one of the easier things to get because aside from counting by fives reading time on a clock is mostly a visual thing (so... reading)

Since this is now a clock thread I need to express my clock history.
The clock looked something like this

Carved in wood. One in the living room and then my grandfather made one for me to have in my room. Sadly, my father broke it in a fit of rage and that was the end of my clock, probably the only thing that I had left of him

Okay that was the clock story
oooh this one is soo beautiful as well, holy shit

Haha, the way I read it is definitely da wo as in "hit me". I didn't even think of it as meaning "fight me". XD

@Annihilation   you really have to be looking at a clock to tell

The short hand is on 10, which means it's 10 o'clock

now go to the 12 and count by fives  until you reach the long hand on the 2

it's about 10:15

while reading the clock you know the context of the time bc as you're reading it it'll either be night or day lol

yh but it’s more the fact of how you’ll express the time
like, in Danish for instance, instead of saying 10:15, we can say something else that still covers the same thing
