It would be odd to come down so hard with some rules, while the majority of users are asking for others to be made more lenient. People want to be able to discuss things like weight, self harm, 'scary' themes etc... but mustn't swear?

We've actually been discussing a new shielded section for older members <img src='/layout/nl/images/smileys/smile.png' alt=':)'>

A question about that, since I'm mildly confused on it
Would a forum that just states "(insert whatever age here)+" as a warning or would it literally look into what age you've set on your profile and only let you in if you're at whatever age+ the forum is for?
(Does that make sense?)

I see it all the time, and I don't like it because I don't swear but I'm like  - life is life so I gotta deal with it.

What do you mean "passed that age" not everyone who is 15+ wants to see cussing either. it should be an option for anyone

No, it's an option for everyone.  But when you're like 14 under it's automatically locked so you can't unlock the filter and make it optional.  But once you're 15 you can remove it if you want (or keep it, like I probably would).

But that is stupid though. Its automatically locked? Tell me, did you ever cuss when you were young? I did. I had a horrible potty mouth. I was 8 and cussing didn't bother me. I don't even like "OMG U CUSSED" because in my opinion cussing has nothing wrong with it. It shouldn't be automatic. Just a option as "Do you want to censor cussing?" for anyone

I agree with Heather here as I'm 11. Swearing does NOT bother me and it probably never will. I think the rule is far enough with not being able to swear at someone because that's all I need. I've been swearing for a while now and it's not like I hardly ever hear cuss words. I hear them ALL the time at home. So I think it should be an option for everyone.

Keep voicing your opinions - this is what the thread is for!

I don't really understand what you saying though.

Well, most likely there is "older" girls on here so, they're going to want to make the rules more mature.
Some people fight against it but, then it becomes like a super big deal so, I'll just let you guys like choose.

Despite the fact that there are "older" girls on here, a lot of the opinions are quite varied at the moment.

Okay, then.
I'll wait...

I just think the whole not talking about weight is stupid.  Ok it could trigger some people or offend others but so can swearing and so can a lot of topics such as politics and what not.  I have issues with my weight and I would love to have others that I could talk to and understands that.  It just seems to me that some of the rules are unbalanced a bit.  Either way I barely post on the forums here as they are majorly slow so it probably wont make much of a difference to me other than the fact that the swearing rule should be kept as is because people swear and its human nature as long as people arnt using it excessively or against other people.

When people create threads that exclude others and it's only directed to one person.

Example- 'Hey Jenny! Go get me a drink'
Example- 'Suzie do you remember that time me and John spilt a drink HAHA'

Example- John wanted to go see this but Carmen and John broke up and then Liam said he hated Carman! Oh no!

Also I think some of the mods should actually act like a 'MOD' as well as I think there should be an age limit on them. (can mods also write properly)

There isn't an age limit but I think it's understood that a moderator should be older than thirteen at least so the older users won't look down.
What do you mean by acting like a mod?

A lot of mods are rude. A mod was rude to me over the weekend. Like SUPER rude. And I told her what she was doing wasn't allowed since she was a mod and she was all bitchy about it talking about how i am not being good either. like you're a mod., i'm a user. who needs to be more mature?

Really? If a mod is giving you an attitude, you should tell another moderator. It's not right.

it's kind of sad (personally) that there are requests asking for mods to type properly or act in a serious way... when the time comes for it and i'm actually acting as a moderator i'll use the blue highlight, compose my posts in a more serious manner etc... but we should be able to enjoy the site just as anyone else, too. as long as we stay within the rules, help others where needed and (as Six said) refrain from swearing as much as possible, i feel we're doing a good job.
i love to mess around with my friends in the threads

The whole weight thing not being allowed to be talked about much, if you are going to do that you need to moderate all things that could be considered a trigger more than just someones weight.
