SMT: August WWIB voting

not to seem harsh or add up to what’s already been said; but this would’ve been a great idea if it did not include the friend rule. although i really like the idea of the actual users voting.

i rarely join threads, i’m here almost only for the creativity of styling and expressing myself with something that’s not in real life. the grey area which is the friend rule seems odd, there’s such a small number of users actively playing, and even fewer of us who really enjoys styling (especially for comps). i don’t know anyone on here personally, but if someone is on my friend list; do they count as my friend?

a lot of us who joins the comps are ”regulars” and as someone above mentioned i recognize most of people’s creativity/style and i look back in the original thread to create something someone already hasn’t. personally i can’t remember who made what outfit but it’s still recognizeable.

if this site had at least 50+ more active users this would’ve worked out great after a few try-outs, but in the long run i can’t see how it will. it has to be more regulated and executed in a different way to make the poll fair for everyone.

It's mostly clearer yeah, thank you for taking your time to explain!

But I'd like to give some feedback still, hope that's aight

The  thing I still don't get is that how is anyone gonna know who's seen whom wear what? How will you "notice" that a voter has seen that particular outfit on a player?
Doesn't that also just mean that WWIB fits can't be worn anymore bc then it would literally disqualify everyone from voting that person if they're even slightly active in forums and such?

I do like the idea of including us into the voting process, but rn it kinda feels like it's just making it more unfair towards everyone participating--
For example I too saved my WWIB fit into my profile, bc I was planning on wearing it after I got bored of my current outfit, but now it feels like bc I've shown it, ppl can't vote for it even if they like it, if they've just happened to pop by my page

The only way I feel like this could work with community voting, is that we would DM our fits to an SMT member, but that would still stop people from actually wearing or saving (since the favorite fits can't be made private) their outfits, which... feels like it misses the point of the whole comp
Great to hear and you welcome.

Of course, it's hard to know who has seen whose outfit and so on, and maybe unfortunately it's impossible for us to know if you don't say it outright or we see that someone has linked their outfit in a forum and invites people to vote.
I think the person should be allowed to wear their outfit if s/he wants to, because we can't demand that they can't wear it, but the person can't ask people to vote for it or if someone is friends with the person, you can't vote for it.

To be honest, I haven't seen your outfit and I've already voted for the 15 pieces I like best, but to be honest, when I check your profile now, you haven't written "vote for me and this is the outfit" , so frankly I wouldn't say you've encouraged anyone to vote for you by now putting it on your profile (as you've now openly told us), but unfortunately your friends can't vote for you if they have seen your outfit.

You are right that it would miss the point if you sent it in to one of us, so we have done it through the forum, but made sure that no one outside can see the outfits in the WWIB thread to reduce the risk.
Yes, there may be people who have a certain style that people can recognize. I personally don't know about these, but others may do as you wrote.

Do you remember who made the outfits or not? I think you can vote, but that you should be completely honest and only vote for the ones you like best and not for your friends and for yourself.
Godis, this is the part that makes things very difficult to accept. How can that possibly work out?
hm, yes, as I said, it's hard to decide, but we are discussing how to proceed next time.Possibly if someone sees on the profile that this is my friend and then votes for it, but of course it is difficult for us to decide.
