I'm not talking about stuff that is super private but I think an introduction like:
'Hello, you can call me XX, I was hired/ volunteered (which one is it btw?) to work on these specific things: XXX. I have a background in XXX/ a degree in XX/ worked on XXX for several years, ... which qualifies me for the task at hand. Here is a rough timeline for the things we planned/ when you can expect which changes, there will be an update each week, biweekly/ each month, ... whatever
would have been nice, yk.
Well, as I said, you can ask me anything.
I'm Tess, and I was hired as an Admin on EN after being Admin on NL for approx. 1,5 years and a moderator before that for 4,5 years, all of which has taught me a lot about the website and how to handle certain situations. It was a big change from NL to EN, since this community is bigger and has a different 'vibe', because there's a lot of different nationalities and cultures on here.
At the moment, we don't have a timeline, but Decode does have a
thread that lists things that are being worked on and which things take priority, for example. Since this isn't a fulltime job for anyone (Admins, developers, owner, etc.) we have to work on the website in our downtime, so we can't do very frequent updates, especially big ones. We do have an update thread, though, where Arthema and I update everyone on what has happened and what's next. (although for April I haven't written anything yet, I'm very sorry, I have been very busy and other things have taken priority).
Thank you for the transparency but I was mostly wondering about Decode since they (?)apparently come from outside the community. Are you at liberty to say weather they were hired by Etjen or how Decodes involvement in vp came to be and if they get paid?
