very true, some people, especially men didn't get enough judgement and are out there with terrible start up ideas that are bound to fail.
to be fair, failing a start-up IS the first point on every men's bucket list
it's in line with the have a mid-life crisis at the age of 40 and start to incorporate the spirit of diCaprio by trying to date chicks that could be your daughter in order to feel less like an old man
(which ... what is up with that??? isn't being with someone younger bound to make you feel older? like when I'm around young-ish people (I talk 19-22) I feel like a real grandmother. but being around 35 y/o makes me realise I'm still full of the naive wonder of the young.)
ngl I feel more normal around people in their 40s than people in their early 20s.

never been able to relate to most people my age either way, so it's not really new
plus 40 y/os don't judge you for being to tired to cope with the stress of the world, they know you can't really drown that feeling in alcohol and other drugs

you ever could? :d
but yeah, my brother also keeps saying how he's getting too old to party all night, now coming home at 2am and calling it a "late night", meanwhile just a few years ago he'd not even be home by the time my mum and I got up to walk the dog

o.O
see I never could do this
but then I found out two months ago I can literally be awake the whole night because insomnia and then be up and running until after lunch, so that's basically 31 hours with no sleep
will I die 5 years earlier due to this? very likely, but that's just my new life with hightened anxiety now
(maybe I was just never able to do this because my anxiety wasn't bad enough o.O)

Allow me to shed some light on a few of your questions. The amounts in ‘Statistics’ were already there before I took over, but the total sum of the 3 servers does represent the actual monthly expenses. Why the DE server is set to €500 and EN plus NL to about €1000 is very likely related to the fact that DE has fewer members. However, it is pretty much impossible to link expenses to just one particular server and at the end of a month, I look at the total income versus the total expenses for all 3 servers. For that reason, there will not be a lot of savings if we close one of the servers/languages, but when we do updates, or add a game, or start with the Revamp (mobile friendly), then it will be hard to justify spending that money on a server/language that underperforms.
Another thing already mentioned is that the ‘Statistics’ tracks a month from the 1st to the end and since some of the MCW sometimes start a few days before a new month, those sales are not added to that full month. Therefore, you might see that during one month we hit the ‘expense-targets’ while during another month we didn’t.

In all honesty, I expected that VP would suffer because of gSm’s relaunch, but this month’s sales were better than last month and hopefully, this trend continues. So there is no reason to worry about VP closing,
but that doesn’t mean we’re completely out of the woods.
This month, EN and DE ended up with about the same number of sales. This means that the DE server (with far fewer members than the EN server), did very well. The main difference is that the DE server keeps getting new members who play and buy new credits. Compare that with NL where most players have been around for many years and are very ‘credit-rich’.
This means that two things need to be looked at… One is “finding new players” and two is “how to reduce the credit load”.
A few weeks back we started paying for ads to ‘find new players’ on the EN server, but it has not been that successful so far. VP is not easy to understand and new subscribers often don’t stay very long (some
handy tutorials might help).
It is one thing to be worried about VP’s survival, but it is another thing to actively help with its continuation. If you don’t have the cash the buy the monthly MCW sets, then you can still try and promote VP via YouTube (making testimonials), or on TikTok, and so on. Also…, if anyone wants to make a
VP tutorial video… please let me know. Once we start getting new members on EN, then things will get better.

I can agree with that. The only thing is that the investment is quite high, so we do need to get some extra money in first...

Thanks Etjen for the update🙏

Perhaps you could reach out to Social Media Team or Youtube Team to think of some ideas to promote vp further? Or maybe sponsor smaller youtubers to play vp that would be interesting.

Than you for the answer and no offense we just had bad experience with the last owner of vp.

Can you maybe elaborate why the server costs grew that much over the last few years? Way more than inflation.
Would it be an option to look into more efficient ways to store the data and optimize the code?
