this looks cute, obviously this uses different elements than vp has but something like this with the threads on top, buttons like the ones on the right on the artwork, everything playful and layered, it has the feel of a dressup game site

this is the same idea, the inventory buttons could be navigation buttons, etc. but its playful and fun and pixelart-y

this is less playful and a bit more 'static' but something like this could be fun though i feel like it feels a lot like current vp already

we were asked for suggestions and we have tried giving our contructive criticism, i or the others have not been rude or mean to anyone involved nor is anything we have said personal to the person behind the work. i understand how hard it must be to redesign an entire website and i would never be able to do it myself but we are just trying to do what we were asked for. if a lot of people at once disagree with the choices made with the design and at the same time youre choosing to involve people in the decision making you should be ready to people voicing the opposite opinions from you that you might not enjoy.

questions like why do we need it and does the person behind it have experience (which is an important question to ask and is not there to bitch and moan and shit on the person, enbette and mss have shown that they are qualified and that is a green flag) are not "overwhelmingly negative"

this conversation clearly is going nowhere however if thats how you choose to interpret what we are saying so i will not be engaging anymore, good luck to everyone involved tho

the thread was just started, so it makes sense for multiple people to jump in (:
keep in mind that change very often meets resistance! we're all aware that this is not the final version, but we all do have ideas in mind that we're wanting to get across. some people including myself have specifically said 'don't take this the wrong way, this is just feedback'. however with feedback it's very important to communicate clearly and effectively, by phrasing things differently or 'sugercoating' opinions, the real wishes from the community might not come across clearly!
i think i can speak for all of us when i say that feedback is not in any way a personal attack to any of the core team members

It was not made immediately clear that the the ”sneakpeak” was an incredibly early stage mock up with nothing established and having a reaction to that is only natural when you think the entire site is going to change to what was shown, especially if not all knew entirely who was involved until mss entered this thread. On top of that ”everyone coming at once” is because you made a thread abt it now so naturally people are responding with their thoughts and requests, if the team was not ready for this yet maybe now wasn’t the time to post it.

aditionally I don’t like how ur singling whydoiexist out she was being constructive, and probably more constructive than my initial post so why point her out as being unnecessarily rude specifically.
core team isn’t going to work as a means to communicate the sites wishes to the people working on the backend if you can’t handle people saying their thoughts without tone policing themselves n sugar coating their criticism when (imo at least) what the team should be doing is using that criticism to keep working on something that will be better thanks to it 😭

i like the other two more myself, but styles differ
i think it would be a good idea to maybe create multiple example mockups and keep the community involved, to see what the majority of the community enjoys the most? if thats at all doable for mss

Especially considering the coder before enbette seemed to not have adequate experience and implemented rly bad graphical choices bc they were literally colourblind 😭😭😭😭 like it’s not a crazy thing to want to know

i get that it can feel a little daunting, but maybe for your own peace of mind don't start your day with feedback if that's a lot for you

this thread won't run away and since the project is still in the early stages, i doubt it would be a problem if you read it all later in the day!
