i think things happen because of your actions, and praying a lot doesn't make sense if ur actions are bad, and good things happen to u if your actions are nice, but there are just somethings that nobody can control, and praying a lot isn't gonna change that (this is just my opinion, no hate towards anyone)
thats exactly my thought on this. i dont mind people praying. if it helps u, feel free. i really like religion, as i know it can save lives. one very good friend of mine grew up in a christian family, ubt wasnt really that religious herself. then she became super depressed, and wanted to take her life. she tried 3 times, or tried to try.. and then one night she said "no, ok, hey God? I dont wanna feel like this anymore. either you make it go away and i will be ur servant, or i kill myself tomorrow". then she woke up and felt awesome. 
personally, i dont think he did much. i think she just wanted to be better, and she wanted to have God in her life, so she made it go away herself. but it saved her life. so.. im just happy she's happy<3
oh my, i'm glad that she didn't do it and that she is happy now<3 this makes me see another perspective of religion, it can be so amazing for real, if people rl believe in something they can do anything wow ^^
