I love when norwegians get obsessed over the american south it's one of my favorite things. They drive around with the confederate flag and are so proud

@everyone we got kinda sidetracked

this wasn't about the weirdness of american or european times or dates tho that's fun to talk about

it's about how when we for example change our TZ to EST or something similar it should switch to a 12 hr clock n maybe our dates because that'd be cool n a lil convenient instead of me having to open up a converter
But.. you've been here a year without having this problem!?!?? The military digital clock is cool

That's what you implied by saying you count by fives. It makes it sound like you think a clock looks different just because we use the 24-hour format.
no... it doesn't

okay here someone on quora explained this for me

"in terms of the minutes… for a 12 hour clock, each number on the face is 5 minutes. It’s easy to add up, or multiply 5’s. Okay, the minute hand is close to the 3, 3x5=15. Almost anyone can do that math quickly.
But with the 24 hour clock, each number on the face is 2.5 minutes… now we’re dealing with fractions. What’s 2.5x6? The math is still doable, it’s simply more awkward."

though I'm not saying it's better because it still gives the same result so it doesn't really matter

Oh my, are you serious?

A clock looks like this:

An analogue clock doesn't suddenly look different, it's only digital time that looks different.

I mean there are still 24 hr analogue clocks, which is what this dude was discussing

but you for the most part use 12 hour time for clocks

why? because it's...

mayhaps

better for it (:

even if you prefer to use 24hr for your digital shit

So weird. I highly doubt anyone uses that. Before this, I'd never even considered having a clock looking like that.

all of the 24hr clocks i've seen just put two rounds of numbers though.. like the numbers 13-24 go outside/next to 1-12. but i've only ever seen those in elementary school handouts for learning to tell time
