you have a house. u have a normal door lock, and you have child safety locks on the windows. the most basic of the basics. you are sitting in the living room reading a book. after a while you go to the bathroom and when you return, your bookshelf is missing. "fucking weird," you think to yourself. thats not supposed to happen. you go out onto the front lawn and look around. all your neighbours are also on their front lawns. they all have megaphones, a handful of books duct taped to their chests, some of them are tossing their books to other neighbours, and all of them screaming "SOMEONE STOLE MY FUCKING BOOKSHELF!"
in the middle of the road there is a safe, and on top of the safe is a person. "it was i," says the person, patting the safe tenderly. "and it was very easy."
the neighbourhood collectively calls the HOA screaming "SOMEONE STOLE MY FUCKING BOOKSHELF. FIX IT."
the HOA shows up, looks around, and puts the thief and the safe in an even bigger safe. "there, we fixed it," they say, leaving the safe in the middle of the road.
back at HOA HQ the HOA members sit down around their circle table. they are all the same person from different camera angles.
a sharp left angle says "we need to fix this! how do we stop the thievery and the breaking and entering?"
"i have an idea," says a soft right angle.
its the next day. you wake up agitated but not harmed. the sun is shining.
you make yourself some coffee, staring cautiously at your bookshelf the entire time. then you hear a scraping noise. someone slipped you a letter through the door. you open it. "DONT WORRY, WE FIXED IT <3" says the letter, in bold crayon choices.
you go out onto the lawn and realise four things in quick succession:
on your roof there is a big billboard. "WILL EAT WORMS FOR MONEY! also heres 5 dollaz for the billboard costs lol sowwi xoxo lil thief"
law enforcement has been officially banned in the neighbourhood.
more billboards are being mounted in the area.
and in the middle of the street sits the HOA, throwing money at the thief currently giving them lapdances
