i am a total lurker, and have frankly lost touch with the userbase here. that has led me to be a ghost whenever i have logged in, but i have been actively logging in for at least a few weeks now.

i realize that my activity might be a concern to many of you, and i welcome you to call me out if you feel that i am not active and visible enough in forums. i will try my best to be more visibly active moving forward <3

if you are out of touch with the userbase, how do you expect the userbase to start trusting you if you don't even know what the current userbase is like? once again not a hateful comment, just genuine concern.

i have no expectation of being trusted by the community straight away, and that concern is very valid.
as a moderator and user in general, trust is something that has to be earned. so i hope openness and activity can be tools for working towards earning that trust. and i look forward to getting reacquainted with the users i have known in the past, and get to know the new ones as well!

Is that a problem on the en server only?

personally have no experience on any of the other servers, so cannot attest to that.

however, distrust in mods seem to be a reoccurring thing on sites like this in general. hope that this is something we can work on moving forward.

Oh I see thanks c: I think that general distrust stems from the fact that on many websites you get banned or a time out without even doing anything, like if someone reports you and the mods don't check if it's true but I have no idea what's the problem here :c

idkidk i dont issues really but ive always felt the moderators are very distant, not really a part of the community, just silently watching its a bit funny i wish you were more intergrated and occasionally engaged in conversation

considering the entire mod team of the dutch server got wiped like a month ago and the former admin got a time out, im gonna have to say no

Most of the moderators have tried this before, but it gets hard to do when it feels like the user base is always against you. You show up in a forum and everything turns to "omg a mod in the forum"

Just an idea, but what if the mods names were black as well so it would be less eyecatching, because if you try to read their name the first thing you notice is the color and immediately associate that with mods? (That won't solve the problem but may make the conversations easier)

I think the names are blue so that user's, especially new users, can tell who to go to with their issues. I think that's something that would have to be discussed with Etjen though because we don't have access to change that.

that is definitely how things should be - and i truly hope that any such cases will be discovered and rectified if they do occur. please do not hesitate to reach out if you feel that you have received an unwarranted warning or timeout, so that we can look into it.

a thing to consider in all of this however, is the fact that the moderators are tasked with punishing rule-breaks at their discretion. this means that moderators are trusted with the task of interpreting the rules and evaluating each incident and its severity. this means that users may disagree with some decisions, but at the end of the day it is the moderators and admins that have a final say in this.

when you see transphobic content, please report it and allow the moderator team to deal with it accordingly. as per the rules - calling out another player is not permitted. accordingly, you will receive punishment for doing so. transphobia, and other forms of discrimination, is not permitted either and any cases of such will be punished as well.

transphobic content is not welcome on vp, and i hope we will succeed in removing all such content - in addition to banning anyone who continues spreading hateful content in any way after being confronted with it.
