Bethan was awake by half past seven on the Monday morning she was due to start college, but not from the general teenage anxiety, no. Her 8 month old daughter, Aura, was teething. This meant that Bethan now spent most nights awake, trying to stop her screaming. Sitting cross legged on her bed, with Aura in her carseat on the bed, dressed and fed, and thankfully, sleeping, Bethan angled her mirror so she could straighten her hair and finish getting ready.
Oliver, despite it being the first day of actual classes at uni, was lazily munching on toast in the kitchen of his freshers flat, nursing the hangover from hell in his boxers with cold pizza. He checked the time on his phone, stuck another slice of toast in his mouth, then walked off to get ready.
