gustav quickly walked after her, there was no way he was going to give up now, he wasn't like that any more. he was a changed man and he had a different attitude to things, taking responsibility for his actions. he rested a hand on her shoulder and turned her bod round to face him. "rosalie don't walk away I want to speak to you. don't be irrational about this okay? be a grown up." he looked down, his eyes landing on lily. he smiled widely at her.

 

quincy's eyes widened as he came over to her and she went into panic mode. at first she wanted to jump n him and cry, and then she had a feeling of anger and wanted to hit him, and finally she was simply disappointed in him. she closed her eyes for a moment before getting up, simply shaking her head at him. "no, cole." she said quietly, pulling her jacket back on properly as she began to push the pushchair away from him, keeping her head down. she was still in complete shock.

gustav frowned and shook his head, standing in front of the buggy so that she couldn't go. "I don't want to hurt ether of you. I know what I did was wrong,  was a complete coard and I should never have done it but i'm so sorry and I now you probably won't forgive me but I want to be a father, lily deserves to know who I am!" he glanced down at her.

 

quincy scowled when he grabbed her hand, his hands were always so much larger than hers. she shook her head and flexed her fingers. "I don't want you to be there! i've coped fine on my own for the past year, I don't need you intruding. you never wanted to before so why now? what's so different now?" she tried to pull her hand away but he was too strong.

gustav raised both eyebrows but he was a lot more pleased that she was slowly accepting it. "of course I don't have a girlfriend, I haven't moved on from yo, rosalie. i've been working, hard. not messing around with girls. I love you." he looked down as he said it, shoving his hands in his pockets as he frowned a little, letting out a small sigh. "okay sooo.. like.. how are we gonna go about this?"

 

quincy shook her head. "it's unacceptable cole, you don't just run away from me and then expect me to be okay with it because you're sorry. things don't work like that okay, I can't forgive you for us walking out of my life. saffron doesn't need that, she doesn't need you leaving as you please. you're not stable to be a father!"

gustav frowned. "you don't know how I feel so don't tell me alright? I do love you and that's that." he sighed, but he didn't want to argue with her so just let it drop. "yeah if you don't mind, i'd like that a lot. she's so cute.." he smiled a little, looking down at her.

 

quincy shook her head and glared at him but he was right. he was her dad and she had no option but to let him have a chance. "I don't want you in my life but I want saffron to have her father so yes, you can be in her life. but as soon as you mess things up I want nothing to do with you."

gustav frowned. "I left so I could sort myself out. I wouldn't have been able to help, you knew what kind of guy I was. but now i've changed and I have a job and I can help you two out and i'm a good guy now." he smiled a little as he looked into her eyes and smiled. he wanted to hold her hand but decided to just walk with her instead.

 

quincy shrugged. "i'm giving you a chance to be a father to saffron is that not enough? don't push your luck, cole." she shook her head. "you can come back and play with her before nap time if you want to." she shrugged, ignoring what he was saying now. she was too heart broken to even consider a relationship with anyone.

gustav shook his head. "I was never good enough for you rosalie, I could never give you the things you needed. I was a jerk and nothing and I would have ruined your life." he shook his head, walking in after her, he kicked off his trainers and followed her in, ruffling his hair around.

 

quincy nodded her head. "yeah she is beautiful.. i'm so proud of her." she smiled down at saffron who was getting grumpy in her pushchair and grinned a little bit, shaking her head. she made her way back to her little house slowly, humming to herself. for once. she felt good as an independent woman.

gustav smiled as lily giggled at him. he kissed the tip of her nose befote putting her down on the ground, and played with her toys, they were little pastic farm animals and a plastic mat to put them on. he grinned, beginning to make the animal noises at her, watching as she tried to copy he found it so amazing, that he had a daughter and he loved that she was getting on with him and not crying.

 

quicy turned her head to him and nodded. "well yeah, that's why you're here." she shrugged and nodded again before turning back to the pile of clean baby grows and vests and socks, folding them up in a pile before showing them into a basket. she flicked the kettle on and got two cups out, making them both a cup of tea, his just the way he liked it, of course.
