Cole stood and thought of Aislin, pleased that she'd given him the ice pack, wondering whether or not it was a step toward her talking to him again. He missed her a lot more than he thought was possible, whether the beating had knocked some sense into his head, he wasn't so sure. He exhaled and put the ice bag down onto the counter before leaving the kitchen and heading to Aislin's room. He paused for a couple of seconds before knocking the door and stepping in.
"Erm. I just wanted to say thank you for the ice back and erm yeah..." He paused again while he sorted his thoughts out before starting again, "I'm sorry as well for... well, everything. You really don't fucking deserve it so I was wondering if you'd want to do something later?" His heart was thumping in his chest and his head was practically exploding in panic. He never did this, ever. "Chill or something... I don't know..."
TJ ignored the first part and just answered the second, since it was a direct question. He couldn't stand to hear her talk about 'mistakes'. Mistakes is forgetting to put the milk in the fridge, jumping in bed with a dickhead is not a mistake. It's just being plain ridiculous.
"No, actually, you're not. Since we're not together but hey, I'll answer it anyway." He looked over at her, his jaw clenched tight but he tried his best to relax. "I met a group of girls after I left you and I went back to their place. Happy?"
Katia was surprised as he pulled her back in the room, her eyebrows raising slightly in shock. She listened to the speech, her heart beating wildly in her chest. He was talking of chances and showing how sorry he is and Katia just couldn't grasp where it was all suddenly coming from, how quickly it was spilling from him. She frowned a little, she was hurt and angry and giving him a chance just seemed the last thing she wanted to do. How dare he even ask it of her. So as he closed the space between their bodies, she reached up and gave him a slap across the cheek. Tears sprung to her eyes as his face moved with the force. It was of pure frustration that it happened but the speech had done the trick. She reached up with the other hand and put it on his other cheek to move it toward her face, kissing him quickly and passionately, wrapping her other arm around his neck.
