Aislin didn't turn when she heard his footsteps, instead she kept her eyes focused on the tiny bubbles that had collected on the surfaces of the dishes. Hearing his question caused a slight shiver to run down her spine and she shook her head as an attempt to shake away both the feeling and to dismiss his question. "Nothing really." It was a short response but she felt that it did the job. It wasn't an entire lie since they hadn't talked about much. They'd argued and then..they kissed, so there hadn't been room to talk. Finishing the last dish, she turned the water off before grabbing the towel and drying her hands. Although she did feel that her short sentence had summed up everything the silence made her feel like she should have said more. "We argued and hm, yeah."

Jade nodded her head slowly as she listened to him, relief flooding through her as the heat from the car warmed her cheeks up a bit. She stuffed her hands into her pocket and felt for the lighter as she turned it slowly in her hand, pulling it out to have a look at it since there was nothing else. "I take it you fancy her, yeah? And she fancies you as well. Am I right then?" She turned to face him, a slight smile on her face that was neither smug nor seeping with happiness. Just a plain smile.

Max shook his head a little. He didn't know what it was, whether he just knew her a lot more than either of them realized or something else, but he just didn't believe her.
"You're holding something back." He didn't look away from her, his eyes focused at her even though she had yet to look at him. "It didn't sound like an argument and when the door opened, you didn't look angry. Or even mildly frustrated." He narrowed his eyes a little, as his temper rose. "What happened in here?"

Cole's eyebrows rose as he glanced toward her. He couldn't help but smirk a little as he pulled off, using it as an excuse to not reply straightaway.
"Well, I'm not going to lie. We have a lot of history and well, if you're attracted to someone, you're attracted so... yeah, I guess, you're right." He shrugged his shoulders. "She's changed now she's with him though so it... doesn't matter." He drove, heading to her house. He was glad she seemed pretty chill about the whole thing but they had only known each other for a day.

Aislin leaned back against the counter as she crossed her arms and stared back at him. She didn't know if it would be a good idea to bring up the kiss but if she kept denying that something had happened, then she would only be lying. She took a sharp breath before limply shrugging her shoulders, uncertainty running through her veins. "We argued and then..we kissed. That was all that happened." Her fingers tightened around her sides as she waited for him to say anything.

Jade turned to face the windows, her eyes watched as the familiar houses passed in the window as she felt slightly proud of having guessed correctly. "Right, him. The nonsmoking straight edge guy. I bet you could take him, any day." She smirked as he stopped in front of hers. "Call me sometime, maybe we could do something without your girlfriend and your girlfriend's boyfriend." She smirked before opening the door and sliding out, walking up to the pavement to open the door.

Max shook his head as she confirmed it and he felt a smirk rise to his lips, as if laughing. He stayed like that for a while as he thought about it, before finally speaking. "You're completely ridiculous, you know that?" The smirk dropped and he frowned, his jaw clenching suddenly. He couldn't believe Cole had managed to snake his way back so easily. "I mean... fuck all to you. He left you hanging for God knows how long and the minute he wants you, you go running back." His voice was slowly rising and he failed to contain the anger, his fists clenching once more.

Cole laughed and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I guess I could." He pulled up outside and was a little sad to see her go. She'd been a great shag and also a pretty great laugh. He nodded his head and smirked. "I will, don't you worry." He winked and then laughed again as she walked up the pavement to her door. He started the car again and drove off, wondering what Aislin was doing, what she was saying. He knew he'd have to see her later, regardless of Max.

Aislin's jaw slowly dropped open, his comment nearly knocking the wind from her. It wasn't so much the content as it was that it had come out of his mouth. Max who was overly sweet and who'd followed her around like a puppy nearly every day they'd been together had finally gotten the best of her. She was impressed but she wouldn't let him see that, so she quickly shut her mouth. Well, someone has certainly grown a pair. She didn't dare let that thought slip from her lips. "You're being a little ridiculous. I didn't run off with him, I'm still with you. It was just a kiss." She swallowed hard as she struggled to keep eye contact, feeling slightly ashamed.

Max narrowed his eyes and took a step toward her. "So you can honestly say it meant nothing? That there was no feelings there when you did? If you can look me in the eye and tell me that, then fine." He knew exactly what was coming though, he could tell just by looking at her, at the shame practically dripping off her.

Aislin chewed on the inside of her cheek as her head fell slowly, her eyes falling to the ground. She'd never been a good liar and she knew that this probably wouldn't be a good time to try and be one. She was pretty sure that the answer had been laid out for him to see and that there was no point in answering. After some time, she lifted eyes back to his and her shoulders raised slightly.

He wasn't really sure what came over him, as his hand raised and smacked against her cheek. As soon as it happened, he took two steps back and shook his head, all anger instantly disappearing. "I'm sorry..." Even his hand was stinging from the force behind it and he was stunned that he had done it, he'd never raised his hand to another person, let alone a woman. He walked back up to her and attempted to place his hands against her cheeks, to apologise again.

Aislin watched as his hand raised, yet it seemed to move in such a quick motion that she didn't have much time to act. The impact caused her head to fall to the side, where she let it stay as she felt the heat pulsing through her cheek. When she felt his hand on her cheek, the stinging seemed to increased and she quickly jerked away from him. "Fuck you! Get out of my house." She moved past him and left him in the kitchen, her cheek still burning as she made her way to the bathroom.

Max frowned and smacked his hand against his forehead after she left the room. He wished he could take it back, it had been a moment of complete frustration. He'd never done anything like it in his life and the guilt was suddenly swimming inside of him. He walked out the kitchen and followed her to the bathroom. "Aislin, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hit you, I don't know what happened. It won't happen again, ok?" He frowned, completely desperate.

Aislin looked at herself in the mirror, annoyance filling inside of her when he followed her into the bathroom. The stinging had subsided slowly but there was a nice red welt from where his hand had landed. "Of course it won't happen again because we're done. Get out." She frowned as she spun around and stared back at him, wanting so badly to throw something at him. "Now."

Max clenched his jaw, realising that it was far too late for apologies. His eyes slid to the welt growing on her cheek and his stomach twisted into guilty knots. He pursed his lips and quickly turned, walking from the room and shutting the door behind him. He was suddenly very hot and sweaty and wanted to just hold her and apologise over and over. It had been a complete lack of control and he'd never done anything like it before, never would he do it again. He was just hoping that she'd be able to see that and forgive him. He glanced around the apartment for a jacket, grabbing the nearest one and pulling it quickly on. He'd have to just stay at his parents for the night and see what happens after. He glanced back to the bathroom one last time, before grabbing his keys and going out to his car.

Auden stared down into her hands as she waited for her friend to come and pick her up. She'd left early to avoid TJ's questioning so she was surprised when Julie had agreed to picking her up. Different thoughts spiralled around her head as she waited on the stairs outside of the building. The doctor had urged her to stay inside and wait and that she needed to rest but she couldn't bare the thought of having to stay in there any longer. The procedure had gone quickly and from what she'd been told it was successful. She was then handed a bunch of pamphlets filled with the different things that may happen in the next few days. She looked up from her hands when Julie's car pulled up slowly in front of her. She stood up and brushed the gravel from her pants as she walked slowly to the car, feeling nauseous with each step that she took.

Aislin sat on the balcony, her arms pulled into her sweater as she looked past the buildings and houses across the street. She'd been waking up early every now and again but she hadn't gone to sleep the night before. When her warm house had grown slightly uncomfortable, she moved outside which hadn't been much help. She sighed deeply as she leaned back in the chair, moving her feet around to stop them from cramping up. While it had been annoying, she slightly missed having someone else in the house. Like most people, she hated being alone. Of course that didn't mean she was willing to be attached at the hip with someone. But she liked the feeling of someone else's presence. She pulled one arm through the sweater's hole and picked her phone up before texting Cole. Sorry for texting so early...Max left & it's pretty lonely in my house. Come? She reread the message repeatedly, checking for any signs of clinging. She sighed before sending it, knowing that if she read it again she'd delete it.

TJ was sat in the front room, his eyes focused on the telly and yet he was completely lost as to what was going on. He had no idea how long Auden had been out, since he'd woken to an empty bed, and was pretty worried about where she'd gone. They hadn't spoke since the argument so things were gonna be intense when she returned regardless. He got up and went into the kitchen, flicking the kettle on for something to do, anything to keep him distracted. He looked out the window and then felt for his phone in his pocket, trying to resist calling her.

Cole was actually already on his way to theirs. He figured if Max was home, he'd just say he'd left his lighter or something like that, just a small excuse in order to see Aislin. He didn't feel guilty in the slightest, it was actually really exciting for him. He felt his phone go off in his pocket and he pulled it out, opening the message. He raised an eyebrow and replied back. Actually, I was on my way anyway, 10 minutes away max. He hit send, his mind raising as he thought about it. Max had left, as in left the house, left Aislin? He was hoping so, since Cole had stayed up most of the night imagining his relationship with Aislin and what it would be like. Although, he'd never admit that to her.

Auden got into the car, and resisted the urge to snap at Julie as she listed off all of the questions she had about the procedure. It happened one time and yet she made it seem as if Auden was an expert on everything. Once they'd turned onto her street, she finally was faced with the thought of what she would do if TJ had woken up. She prayed that he was asleep so that she wouldn't have to explain anything to him. Once the car had come to a rest, she quickly thanked Julie before opening the door and stepping out of the car. Going to the door, she unlocked the door slowly so as to not to make too much noise inside of the house. She opened the door quietly and shut it slowly before walking fully into the house, walking quickly past the kitchen when she saw Cole. She felt she'd be in the clear once she reached the bedroom.

Aislin watched as his response popped up on the top of her screen, her eyebrows folding together but quickly eases downwards as she smirked. She shivered a little as the wind hit her cheeks, and she wondered if she should finally head inside. She buried her face a little into the sweater as she tried to stay a little longer, eventually giving up as she stood and headed back into the house. She wondered what she would talk about with Cole, she hadn't planned much she just knew she wanted him there. Running her fingers through her hair, she went into the living room to watch mtv.
