Sage flew against the tree, then collapsed on the ground, coughing and gasping for air, as the wind had been knocked out of her. When she looked up again, she had the feeling that the Renee she had once known was gone. Using what little strength she could sum up, she floated up and into a tree hidden in the shadows, observing Renee and waiting in silence.

Renee smiled and looked up at Sage, "Now that I've changed, all of my senses have been enhanced. I could see, hear, and even smell you from a mile away." Ryan lunged at her, but suddenly, she was behind him. Renee plunged the sword through his back, she looked up at Sage, "It won't kill him." She said taking her sword out from his back, "It will only keep him down until he calms." Renee smiled at her, "This, Sage, is me. This is the true, and utterly insane, me. This is what those pills kept me from becoming. This is a true monster. I have no emotion, no mercy, and certainly no joy."
