Connor listened to her speak as he concentrated on the road, even though he had driven this way what felt like a thousand times now he was being extra vigilant. After all there was precious cargo onboard and the last thing he wanted was for his sloppiness to cause any sort of tragedy or harm. "I can understand that point of view.. I was raised differently though," pausing for a moment as he went around a roundabout he continued once they were back onto the straight, "we kill our enemies to ensure our tribe and families are protected. The idea is that enemies can always multiply if we don't subtract them from the equation entirely." Perhaps it was a rather cynical way to think but it was how werewolf tribes had survived for centuries. It also reminded him that there was enemies out there that had harmed Sasha and could come for any of them. Once they pulled up into the drive he got out and looked over, a moment of panic washing over, "wh-" but it faded away as he had rounded the car to see her smiling, thank goodness it wasn't a bad 'oh my god'. "is our little one kicking again?" he asked as he slid his hand against her tummy to feel the kick as well.

Gabbie understood where he was coming from, but it seemed the darkness within her wanted to torture their enemies instead of just killing them off.. it sounded like much more fun, but she had to control that. She couldn’t just go round ruining everything in sight because it was fun, then she would be living up to her brothers expectations of her, and though she didn’t care that much about his opinion of her, she felt like she had a point to prove. Laughing softly when he dame rushing to her side, she nodded her head. “I don’t know what it’s doing in there but it feels like it’s got about ten arms and legs.” She teased, her hand resting over his and giving them a squeeze. It was moments like this when she knew that even if things felt like they were turning on it’s head, everything was going to be okay between them. She walked up and opened the first door, kicking her shoes off and heading into the kitchen, her tummy rumbling.

- the memorial day -

Luna had decided to spend the night down in Hell mainly due to exhaustion from trying to get her magic under control. She woke up before Lucifer and used his shower to try and rid herself of the scent of him, knowing that Dymitrius would hate how strong the smell was. Stepping out she used her powers to dry herself off and manifested the oversized black top she often wore lounging about that had skateboarding skeletons on it. Stepping out of the bathroom she noticed that Lucifer was still sleeping though whe was convinced he was pretending. But either way she closed her eyes and pulled herself back up to earth and appeared in her back garden.

Connor had been working tirelessly as Beta to ensure that everything was right for the memorial and that his brothers little girl would be sent off with honour. The entire pack had come together and they had set up a spot within the woods where she would be burnt, as was werewolf tradition, to assist with going into the afterlife. Currently he was in the kitchen of his house dressed in a tight white shirt with his tie poorly done up and a pair of tight black trousers. The suit jacket was lying sprawled on the living room sofa and he had a drink in hand. It was only 10am but what they were doing today was going to be tough. "Gabs are you almost ready to leave? We should be picking Sasha up soon."

Dymitirus has never wanted this day to happen - and the last couple of days had been rough on him. His companion had been gone, and it was with good reason. He knew it was something she had to do but it just made being on his own a lot harder, knowing she was with the devil, who she was charmed by so easily. It made him sick, and he could barely feel their connection when she was down there too. He had been putting all of his time and energy into looking after shaun, though sasha was out of hospital now he had told her he would care for him until she was ready. And the tribe had finished off the new house too, so now he knew she would be in safe territory. He finished off the glass of rum that was in his hand, his who,e body shaking as he strode into the kitchen, putting the glass down and closing his eyes. He had about ten minutes until he left and he was putting it on hold for as long as he could.

Gabbie didn’t know how she was going to cope today. She felt so selfish, she was pregnant and blossoming while her best friend had just lost her cherished baby, it just didn’t feel right. The pregnancy was moving faster than Gabbie could have ever imagined and it was scary. This morning she had woken up and there was a glimmer of a proper baby bump now, there was no hiding it no matter what outfit she had tried on. She decided on a pair of smart white teasers with a white blouse tucked in, and a white blazer on top. She would probably stand out like a sore thumb but she didn’t have any kind of dark attire, it wasn’t in her vocabulary to dress like that. Brushing her hair into a pony tail, she grabbed her phone and handbag and headed down to the kitchen where Connor was stood and she stood in front of him, fixing his tie for him. “Ready when you are..” she said quietly.

The moment Luna had made it back onto Earth she could feel a wave of emotions that weren't her own fill her veins and even though they were ones of sadness she couldnt help but smile. It had been weird not being able to feel Dymitrius at all for the last few days and she was eager to see him. Opening up the backdoor she saw him leaning over the kitchen counter and the sadness in his eyes made her heart break, "Dymitrius.." she said in a soft voice as she approached him, letting her hand rest on top of his to ease both of them back into being in each others company. Her concept of time had been a bit skewed from being in Hell and by the time it was almost time to leave but she could change in seconds.

Connor tipped the last of his drink into his mouth as he heard his wife descending from the bedroom. Resting the glass down he turned to look at Gabbie and a small smile crept onto his face just from seeing her. "Thank you. I can hardly think straight," he admitted as she fixed up his tie. The pair of them headed out to the car and he climbed in, thankfully one alcoholic beverage did very little to intoxicated a wolf so he felt fine as he headed towards Sashas new place to pick her up. "Dymitrius hasn't responded to any of my messages or calls.. I dont think Luna came back in time.. " his voice trailed off as he took the next right.

Dymitrius felt his heart pull when Luna resumed her place in earth and he had to grasp at his chest for just a moment, the strength of their love sometimes shocked him and he couldn’t get over how good it could make him feel, even when he was fleeing the lowest he ever had. He turned his head when he heard her, first letting her hand rest on his and when they finally adapted back into that feeling he grabbed her as tight as he could and held her close to his chest. “I thought I was going to have to do this without you,” he whispered quietly, his lips to her head and his eyes closed tight. He knew he had a strong support around him, Connor and their father had been amazing but it wouldn’t have been the same if Luna hadn’t have been there with him. He pulled away eventually stroking her hair from her face. “We better get going.. I want to be there before everyone else arrives.” He rubbed at his eye with his hands before reaching for his suit jacket and shrugging it on.

Gabbie shrugged her shoulders. “I think it’s going to be hard for all of us.. I can’t even imagine how d and sash are feeling right now,” she said quietly. She was doing as much deep breathing and mindfulness as she could to stay calm, she didn’t want to be in floods of tears before they even got there, that would have felt extremely selfish of her, this day was for her friend and for D, for them to be able to put their baby girl to rest. She got into the car with him, tugging her jacket a little tighter around her and she stared out the window while he spoke, a small sigh escaping from her lips. “I don’t know why she thought it would be a good idea to just disappear when he needed her the most.. that’s so selfish.” She took a deep breath as they got to sasha’s house and got out, giving her friend the biggest hug. No words were enough.

Luna thought that the intensity of his emotions might have knocked her out, after a few days without this feeling inside of her it was almost overwhelming but in the best way possible. "I promised I would be here and I dont break my promises," she whispered into his chest as they hugged and tears threatened to spill already, "I'm sorry i wasn't here sooner its hard to hold on to a sense of time down there." Lifting her hand up she wiped away a stray tear that had tumbled down his face, oh how she had missed him. "Of course I'll just be a second." Sliding out of his hold she closed her eyes and focused on using her hands so that she changed into a black velvet dress that had strappy sleeves but a skater skirt style bottom half. As the pair headed out and towards the forest she kept her hand in his, "how have things been?" She asked.

Connor nodded his head, he didnt envy his brother in the slightest right now and the pain he must have been feeling would be intense. Werewolves formed bonds with their children very quickly, especially when they are pure breed so having tthat ripped away must have been intense. Dymitrius had never disclosed where Luna had went, just that she had to leave town for a hit for personal issues and it pissed Connor off. His brother needed his companion and she had ran off on him but when he voiced some cjoice words to D he got shut down. "Witches are known for being selfish creatures," he said, a low growl coming out ad he said it.

Sasha heard the car pull up, she was dressed in a midnight blue jumpsuit which matched the colour of her baby girls eyes. Shaun was staying with a nanny as he was too young to witness these events and she pressed a kiss to his head, "mummy loves you," she called before heading out the door and straight into her best friends arms, holding her tight. Scrunching her eyes up she tried not to cry there and then, "thank you for coming Gabs, I couldn't do this without you."

Dymitrius gathered his things while she got herself changed, usually he would watch her and be in awe of her but right now.. he couldn’t concentrate on anything. Not even his little one. He shoved his phone and keys and everything into his pocket before taking her hand and walking out with her, the fresh air hitting him hard and the crisp leaves crunched beneath his feet as they trudged through the forest. This was the worst thing without a doubt but as they for there, he had to smile at the way the tribe had set everything up for him. He and t had to lift a finger and he knew his brother had been a big part of this. Even if he had snapped at him, he had been the biggest help for him, assuming the alpha role while D took a break. “Things have been.. tough, but everyone has been helping. I’m very lucky to have everyone around me. I missed you though.” He kissed her head, giving her hand a squeeze.

Gabbie shook her head when Connor growled. She wouldn’t tell him off for it but he sure did have something against Luna. Gabbie didn’t like that she’d gone off either, but she was sure Luna  would have her own reasons that were perfectly valid. She he.d into Sasha for a little while, giving her a sad smile as she pulled away, cupping sasha’s face in her hands, “I told you, I’ll be here every step of the way, whenever you need me.” She promised her, nodding her head once opening the back door for her t get in and then getting in back into the front as they began to head back into the deeper part of the forest until there was no way for Connor to drive any further and they all got out. Holding Connors hand on one side and sasha’s on the other.

Luna was going to push everything that happened in Hell aside because today was for Dymitrius and she was here to give him all of her support. Anything he needed or wanted he would get without a second thought. "I'm sorry for not being here for you?" She returned the hand squeeze as she moved closer to his body desperate for his warmth. The wind was a welcome feeling against her skin after being in the pits of hell but it also meant she felt colder than usual. As they approached the clearing she saw the beautiful flower arrangement around the structure that would soon be set ablaze, "the tribe did a beautiful job."

Sasha nodded her head weakly, "I know its just been a whirlwind," she admitted. Since getting home from hospital she hadnt been herself but was too stubborn to ask for help from anyone. Climbing into the backseat she gave Connor a small smile, "thanks for the lift." She kept quiet until they reached the edge of the forest and they all slid out of the car. Her hand quicklg found Gabbies and they began to head in towards the area that everything was set up, "have you heard from D?" She asked but Connor shook his head.

Dymitrius shook his head at her. “I understand you had places to be.. I just hope you’re feeling better now little one.” He encouraged. Hopefully that would be the last of her visits to hell for a long time and even though he could sense she had showered there was a strong smell lingering on her that he couldn’t get past and he would be asking her about it.. just not right now. “I’m so proud of them, I don’t know what I’d do without them,” he admitted. Turning his head when he heard footsteps and then the three of them arrived and he reached out for sasha’s hand, pulling her to him and giving her a hug, she was the only one who would truly understand how he was feeling. “They’ve done a wonderful job, haven’t they?” Be kept his voice low. A lot of the tribe were beginning to gather now.

Gabbie bit down on her lip, her eyes shifting from Connor to Sasha. “He’s been pretty much radio silence since Luna left.. it’s been weird.” She said quietly as they headed up to the memorial spot and she let sasha go off and she stayed close to her husband. So Luna was back? Now Gabbie was full of questions, but today wasn’t a iut drama, it was remembering the innocent little life that had so cruelly been ripped away from all of them. She huddled into his side a little more, consciously resting a protective hand to her stomach as everyone began to gather and take their places around the clearing that had been set up for them. “I wonder where she’s been.. me how long she’s back for.” She whispered to Connor.

Luna tried to hide the smile that had appeared on her face when he used her nickname, it just made her realise how much she had truly missed this man. "We can talk about it later," she said gently, not wanting to get into all of that when there was much more important things to focus on today. "They are loyal to you because you are such a good Alpha, Dymitrius. They respect you beyond measure," she added but as his attention turned she followed his gaze over to the three that were emerging into the clearing. Letting her hand fall from D's as he pulled Sasha in for a hug she wished that she could wrap her arms around them both and take away the unbelievable pain they must be experiencing. Her eyes shifted over to Connor and Gabbie, the latter was giving her a rather firm glare and his wife returned a small smile to her. It was a bit of a jolt to the system seeing Lucifers daughter again and guilt tried to creep into her mind but she shifted her focus so that Dymitrius wouldn't sense it.

Sasha nodded her head weakly, "Shaun even said that his dad was sad.. " she whispered but when they arrived at the clearing she dropped Gabbies hand and took hold of Dymitrius, wrapping herself into his body as they hugged. Now she was fighting back the tears and she nodded her head just a tad, "it's perfect.. everything is just .. just right." she sniffed, pulling herself away from his chest and dusting off some of the makeup she had smudged on him.

Once Connor was close enough he could pick up an odd scent from Luna, it was that of charcoal mixed with molten lava but he couldn't put his finger on where he had encountered it before. For all he knew it could be from where ever the fuck she had been and he wasn't going to read too much into it. Looking down at Gabbie he pulled her close into his side, "Somethings different about her but I don't know what," he whispered, "but she better not abandon my brother again when he needs her. Being away from your companion can cause a lot of pain and weakness, even moreso for an Alpha."

Dymitrius has all sorts of emotions pulling at him so right now, he didn’t know if half of them were his or Luna’s or anything, which unbeknownst to him was probably a good idea considering what she had been up to behind his back. If only he knew. He held Sasha for a little while before letting her go again, not wanting it to be weird but at the same time, she needed the comfort that he held. “Our baby girl will get the send off she deserves.” He promised her, finally letting her go he went to Luna, pressing his lips to hers before heading to in front of the clearing. A couple of his most trusted tribesmen appeared from the side, a small white coffin in their hands and he felt his heart break as they rested it down on the clearing and D cleared his throat. Everyone surrounded him in silence as he began. “Today, we are here to remember mine and sasha’s beautiful little girl. She would have been brave, courageous, strong, funny, beautiful, charismatic. So many things, but two thugs ripped that opportunity from her. And so today, we will celebrate her, we will drink for her, and we will cherish her in our hearts forever.” He began to get a little choked up at this point, but he knew he had to continue.

Gabbie wrapped her arms around his waist and stayed close to him, letting out a sad sigh. This was such an awful day and watching the parents of this little girl embrace each other, it made her feel awful. “I’m sure he won’t let her go again.. and we can’t judge without knowing the whole thing.” She reminded him, trying to keep her opinion placid, no matter how wrong she thought it was that Luna had just swanned off. She moved closer now and they found their space as the tribe huddled together, there was nearly 100 of them altogether and it was nice to see that so many people cared about the alpha and his family. Her hand found Connors as D began to speak and though she had been holding back the tears, they were in full force now as they rolled down her cheeks.

Sasha didn't want to let go of Dymitrius but she understood that he would want the support of his companion over hers. It was still a very bitter feeling seeing the two of them together but she forced it aside and spotted Colton in the clearing and he was making his way over to her. He had spent a lot of time with her and he stayed up late into the night protecting her home so that she felt safe enough to sleep. Standing by him she waited for the ceremony to begin and the moment Dymitrius began his speech the tears were tumbling down his face.

Luna waited patiently for the moment between Sasha and D to finish, for once not feeling jealous about their connection because right now she understood that they needed each other in a way she couldn't help. Feeling Dymitrius lips on hers again sent butterflies through her body even if it was brief and she was going to cling to that feeling. Hiding her infidelity from him was difficult but that wasn't the kind of news you gave someone at their Childs funeral. As he began his speech she held onto his hand for support and it didn't take long for the tears to begin to cascade down her own face. Even if this child wasn't her own blood she still would have been part of Luna's family. Taking a moment to focus and remember how to, she spoke into D's mind you've got this and she squeezed his hand.

Connor frowned slightly, Gabbie always did want to find the good in people but he just was very wary of people in his life and even more so since Eden had tried to fuck up his entire marriage. "Of course but I can still speculate" he whispered back to her. Moving closer with everyone he watched as some of the tribesmen came out with the small coffin and his heart shattered. He could feel his own eyes filling up with a sea of tears at his brothers words and their father wasn't too far away either looking just as heartbroken and emotional. Holding Gabbie's hand securely in his own he didn't want to let go, seeing how quickly life can be ripped from this world he swore there and then to not let any harm ever come to his wife and child. They were the only ones that mattered at the end of the day.

Dymitrius felt a shiver down his spine, feeling Luna lush into his mind and he looked down at the ground, composing himself before he began to speak. Now it was time for the important bit.. the fire. It signified the start of a new life for the child, for her to be set free to the afterlife without the force of a human body dragging them down and so he stepped forward, picking up the torch and lighting it he held it above his head as the whole tribe began to hum a very ancient song, one that every tribe across the globe knew. A soothing lullaby that was sung to him and Connor as a child and one that he would sometimes whisper to shaun when he was restless. Pressing the head of the torch to the coffin, he watched as it went off in flames and he rested the torch back down, closing his eyes as the tears began to fall.

Gabbie wanted to reach out and save the little coffin, this felt so weird and wrong but she knew it was wolf culture, something she was still learning about but would never fully understand, but she was trying, considering her husband was a wolf and her child, their child, was going to be half of what he was. Burying her head to his side as the ashes began to fall through the air she sobbed quietly.  She was going to be extra careful now in making sure their child would never get hurt.

Luna let her hand fall from Dymitrius as he made his way over to the torch and she watched as the coffin caught fire and it slowly spread to the structure it had been placed on. There was something so powerful about hearing over a hundred werewolves all begin to hum the ancient song and she felt goosebumps lace her skin. Rubbing at her eyes she tried to stop the tears but there was no way that was happening, not when both her and her companion were in this state. As he returned to her side she hugged into his arm now rather than simply holding his hand, knowing that he needed that support in order to get through this. Once the lullaby came to an end everyone bowed their heads in respect before all the werewolves howled up into the sky to guide the spirit of the unborn child on her way to heaven. The fire crackled away in the background as the structure burned and she looked up at Dymitrius, "that was beautiful Dymitrius." she whispered.

Sasha had dropped to the ground from the sheer power of her emotions, her knees deep into the grass as she clung to her chest sobbing uncontrollably. Colton had lowered himself and wrapped an arm around her trying his best to comfort her.

Connor hummed along with everyone else as the old familiar lullaby filled the forest. He held Gabbie close to his chest and could understand why she may struggle seeing this ritual, it was definitely far from the tradition of burying ones dead. Though it wasn't far from the humans invention of cremation however it wasn't done in privacy, it was part of the ritual of passing. Throwing his head back he tapped into his inner werewolf and howled up into the sky in unison with the tribe and it was a powerful display. If any rival tribe had been nearby they would have been terrified. Moving his head back into a neutral position he looked over at his brother who looked broken and his heart ached for him.
