Luna was thankful he didn't pull his hand away, she needed him right now. As they sat down she moved her chair so they were sitting close together, their hands still interlocked. "I'm glad its your dad doing it," she whispered back to him. But her eyes landed on Emmanuel at the back of the room and they stared at each other for a few minutes, the anger was evident in her eyes and his filthy smirk made her sick. She pulled her gaze away and back to the front where Karl was speaking. She smiled very weakly, trying to convey some sort of thank you to him without words. Once the moment of silence had passed she found some strength to speak to the room at large, "My grandma, Elder Evelyn, cared for this tribe as if you were all part of her blood family. Many of you she held when you were just babies, others she gave much needed advice to during your time of need." she took a pause, trying to compose herself, "While she may have been old she still had a lot of life in her and she wanted to give it all to your tribe which is why I hope you will all show her the respect she deserves at this time."
Connor felt a shiver run down his spine as his father spoke and then again as Luna found the strength to say a few words. His eyes met with Dymitrius, speaking directly into his mind she better not mention that it was Emmanuel because shit will hit the fan. He was stood at the opposite side of the room and further back than his brother and Luna, so he was closer to Emmanuel and he caught his gaze over at Luna and the look in his eyes made him sick. Here the whole tribe was, mourning Elder Evelyn and they weren't even going to know the truth, that she was murdered by one of their own. It was cruel and vile.
