Plot 142: A Little SurpriseMuse A is annoyed when someone rings their doorbell late at night. When they answer the door, they’re even more annoyed to come face-to-face with their ex,Muse B. Muse B, typically smug and rude, looks panicked and makes a plea for Muse A’s help. Bitter about the sour ending of their relationship by Muse B’s fault, Muse A is poised to slam the door shut in Muse B’s face. Just before they can, a pint-sized kid peers out from behind Muse B’s legs and asks to use the bathroom. Muse A may loathe Muse B, but they aren’t heartless, so they let the child in and begrudgingly also Muse B. While the child is in the bathroom, Muse A demands an explanation from their ex.Muse B breaks down and explains that the child is theirs but they only recently found out. The kid was left at their door by their other parent and they’re freaking out because they have no idea how to raise the child, especially not alone. Muse B came to Muse A for help because they have no one else to turn to. Muse A is sympathetic, mainly for the child, and only because of this does Muse A agree to help.

Mitch felt a sudden burst of hunger and sighed as he hauled himself up off the sofa. However he pulled a face upon opening the fridge, as there was next to no food. This was because he hadn't left the house in days, as he didn't feel like it and hadn't thought there was any need for him to. Slamming the fridge door shut he went and crammed his feet into some shoes, and grabbed his keys. He then headed out to the nearby supermarket, reminiscing about how they'd even fought over stuff like there being no milk, and how he always ended up going out to buy it. Once he arrived at the shop he headed inside, towards the fridges and freezers.

Amy shivered, as she pulled up outside the house, although could barely see out of the rain covered car window. She turned back to her little girl in the car seat, "Mummy knows the person in this house okay, you can use their bathroom?" She assured her daughter, Chloe. After they both got out the car they made the once very familiar walk up his drive; it had been about four years since she'd done it. She had no idea what to say to him, or how he'd react as it'd been so long, but she knew she was going to have to tell him - she couldn't do this alone. She squeezed the hand of her daughter, before using her free hand to knock the door.

Ava sighed as she looked at the ice cream, trying to decide what flavour to get. As she stood looking at the different flavours and brands she remembered the times that she would come here with mitch before the overdose. Most Tuesday nights they would have a movie night and as soon as Mitch had finished work they would come and buy movie snacks. There was one time when they had ended up making a huge mess because one of the ice cream tubs had come open and then somehow it ended up all over them both and they had got kicked out. They laughed for hours about it and ended up continuing their food fight once they got home. She sighed as she felt tears well in her eyes. Biting her lip she grabbed the last tub of Mitch's favourite ice cream and turned to exit but she bumped into a hard chest.

Alec yawned as he laid back on settee, flicking through the tv channels. He had had a long day at work, working from about five in the morning until half past five in the evening. He was exhausted. It was now about ten thirty and he was ready to go to bed. He flicked the tv off and stood up before he headed into the kitchen to get a bottle of water. He grabbed his water and was about to head upstairs when he heard the door go. He groaned, who the hell was ringing his doorbell at this time of night!? He walked to the door and opened it, his eyes widening a little when he saw it was his ex. He sighed ''Can I help you?''

She began, before an impatient Chloe cut in, "Can I please use your bathroom?" The small child pleaded. Amy bit her lip, looking down to Chloe, then up to Alec, before resting her eyes on the ground and waiting for his answer.

How are you?'' she asked quietly, her eyes meeting his and she sighed, she had missed him so much. It took everything in her not to throw her arms around him and tell him to never let her go.

Alec folded his arms and leaned against the door. There was no way he was going to let her into the house, he wanted nothing to do with her after she had treated him like shit and broke his heart. He raised an eyebrow ''Wondering i..'' he paused when he heard a different voice. He looked down noticing a pretty little girl. His heart melted a little, she was so cute.And she was drenched from the rain. He step aside. ''Come on in. You must be freezing, what's your name cutie?'' he asked, bending down to Chloe's level, not even realising that she was his.

He had assumed she didn't care anymore, since he hadn't heard from her. Seeing her again had just reminded him how much he missed her, and how he now cared for her again.

Amy smiled softly at the way he seemed to take to Chloe, and they both followed inside. Amy stood back a little, closing the door, but Chloe bounded on ahead of her. "I'm Chloe!" She replied, grinning at him, as she was never usually particularly shy. "What's you're name?" She asked, leaning her head slightly to one side. As Amy lent against the door she looked at the two of them, unsure when, and how, to drop the paternity bombshell.

Alec smiled ''That's a cute name. And I'm Alec.'' he said as he stood up ''Come on, the bathroom is just down here.'' he said as he led her down the hall and round the corner to the bathroom. He left her to do her business before he walked back to Amy. He leaned against the wall and sighed ''Why are you here Amy? And who's Chloe, one of your cousins I never met?'' he asked, folding his arms over his chest as he looked at her.

Did he know about Chloe in the first place? Like they put her up for adoption or something? And maybe that could be one of the reasons they split?

Yeah, that's a good idea. Maybe he wanted to have her adopted but Amy refused and then they split?

Maybe the other way round and that's why he's so angry she's there? And for Mitch and Ava, maybe Blake could still be there when they get back and he try's saying that he's her boyfriend?
