"Oh yeah, definitely an antilope," Abigail confirmed, nodding to herself. Deers looked so much different, how had he even managed to get them switched up? Well, he probably wasn't an expert on animals. Not that Abigail was, but that was most definitely an antilope. She took a few seconds to study the painting thoroughly, before giving Jacob her opinion on it. "I like it," she then said, keeping her voice low to not disturb anyone else. "It's almost a little childish," she then continued, before quickly adding, "but in a very good way."

Jacob nodded in agreement. «Very nostaligic. Reminds me of the fairytale books I used to read as kid. But I guess that’s the point,» he said, loud enough for her to hear, but low enough to not disturb anyone else. His eyes drifted quickly to the clock on the wall, remembering that he had somewhere to be in two hours. He probably had to leave in like an hour then, since it took some time to get back. But he didn’t need to say that, not yet. He liked hanging out with this girl and would stay for as long as he could. «Did you read any fairytales?» he asked, his eyes back on her.

Abigail tried to think back to her childhood, trying to remember. Her mum had read her fairytales as a young child, and when she'd gotten old enough, she'd started reading them herself before bed. But exactly which fairytales, she could not recall. "I did," she answered, "but exactly which fairytales, I can't remember." The painting was as brought straight out of a child's fairytale book. That's the point, Abigail, she reminded herself, it's called Fables and Fairytales, remember? "My mum used to read them to me before bed. I started reading them on my own when I got old enough."

«My dad was usually the one to read for me,» Jacob said, noticing that they had a similiar story as to fairytale reading. But then again, most children were read to before they started reading for themselves. «Peter Pan was my favorite. And Peter Rabbit, of course,» Jacob remembered, smiling a bit at the memory of bedtime stories with his dad. «Maybe I had a thing for Peters...» he realized, as both the characters were, in fact, called Peter. He looked over at her, chuckling.

Abigail smiled at this, how he seemed to have a thing for fairytale characters named Peter. It wasn't so weird, she supposed. Rather a coincidence, probably. She noticed, after a while, that her thoughts har wandered over to her own father. It wasn't exactly a subject she was comfortable thinking about, and so she quickly shoved the thoughts away again, not wanting to ruin the moment by getting in a bad mood. "My favorite has always been Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," she then said, smiling at the thought. She'd always found the book.. artistic, unique. It was something of its own.

"I've only seen the movie, and it kinda creeped me out," Jacob admitted. Growing up it was just a creepy story to him, but now, in hindsight, it seems like a story about drugs, doesn't it? He didn't comment that, though, since he didn't want to ruin it for her. "But the artwork is beautiful, though," he added. "Every old cartoon movie is a piece of art. Imagine it, sitting for many hours, working on changing a picture bit by bit to make it move?" It was crazy, and he admired the work that was put into it.

"It is," Abigail nodded in agreement, after his comment about the artwork. She didn't ask him how the movie could've possibly creeped him out. Neither did she comment on the fact that he'd seen the movie and not read the book. "I don't think I could've ever worked like that," she then said, talking about sitting for hours, only to change a picture a little at a time. Too impatient, she thought to herself, before quickly adding, "but you're right, and I truly admire their work." When was the last time she'd sat down and watched a cartoon movie? Perhaps she should take the time to do so soon.

"Do you like drawing?" Jacob asked, since she were talking about doing the same kind of work. Also it was just an attempt of small talk from his side. But it couldn't hurt to ask, right? And he felt a kind of need, or not need, but he wanted to know her a little more. He looked at the clock once more. 55 minutes. It was like a speed date.

Abigail noticed Jacob's slight glance at the clock, and started to wonder whether he might be looking for an excuse to leave. She thought it best not to ask. "Yeah," she answered, nodding as she spoke. "Drawing and painting, actually. I uhm.. just started my studies in studio art."

After that, Jacob decided to have all of his attention on her. He couldn't give off the wrong vibes now, could he? "Oh! You're an artist!" He grinned. "I don't know if you noticed, but I am, in fact, a photographer. Sophomore year at Photography & Imaging. Don't tell me you go to NYU as well?" Because that would be a coincidence.

He was a photographer, of course he was. No wonder he'd taken such a nice picture of her, using only the camera on his phone, then. And of course he went to NYU as well. Not that Abigail had anything against that, not at all. "I do, actually," she answered, smiling even broader now. "What a coincidence." It was almost kind of funny, in a way.

«A happy coincidence» Jacob added. And he meant that, too. «Weird that I haven’t seen you around, then. But I guess it’s a pretty big university. And you’re new. Have anyone given you a tour of the school yet? I got lost more times than I can count during my first weeks.» He laughed. «I learned my way eventually, though.»

Abigail smiled at that, cause it was very much a happy coincidence, indeed. "Not a proper tour, no," she answered. Maybe you could give me one? Or maybe that was a question she could ask later. She didn't want to seem til intrusive or demanding, now would she? "I'm glad you learned your way, though. Means there might be hope for me too."

«There is hope for everyone, young padawan,» Jacob said, raising one hand and imitaiting Yoda from Star Wars. Then he laughed, kind of awkwardly. «I probably looked really stupid there, didn’t I?» Pointing out that you look stupid works two ways, as most things do: 1. you seems less stupid, or 2. you look 10x more stupid. Jacob was hoping for the first. «If you ever need someone to guide you, just let me know. My name is Jacob, as I said. Brewer. I’m the idiot holding a watermelon piece in his profile picture if you search me up on Facebook.»
