when everyone is out of the building he points to where they came from. "If we go back that way we can meetup and set up camp in a couple of hours. Let's go with each of our groups and split up the group from the other base." He looks around and points at Ellie and then at the other boy from his group. "Privates, let's follow this group to our vehicles. Carter you come with me." He lifts an eyebrow at the twins, and then looks at the other boy. "You and Parker take the other car. We split the group evenly. Let's go."

Clarisse
She can't help but overhear a bit of the twins' conversation, but decides not to eavesdrop. It is not any of her business anyway. When Axel talks she nods and starts gathering her group. She walks over to Gabe and pats him on the shoulder. "Let's go pal," she says and nods in the direction they are supposed to go.

''Yes, let's get out from here'', said he and smiled a little before following Clarisse to their group. But he looked at his sister one last time before thinking about their mother. He really wishes she was here so she could help Ellie because she always knows what to do.

When they get to the van he jumps in the back with the privates, after one of the others groups members has volunteered to drive. He sits a little away from the others, leaning his head back and closing his eyes, releasing a sigh. Axel still feels the tingling in his fingers, the blood pounding through his body. As he sighs he feels some of the tension leave his body. He is good at his job, but it drains him.

Clarisse
She looks back after Gabe and trots down to the vehicle, dragging her boots along the soil. Her legs are so tired, she can't wait to come home and take a shower. when they reach the vehicle she helps guide the group inside and load the back, before she gets in the front seat behinde the wheel. She whistles. "Carter," she yells and claps the side of the car, "You're with me in the front. I need a watch - with a gun."

Gets into the van before finding a place to sit. She then notices that Axel has sat down a little bit away from the rest, but she decides to let him be. After all, she wasn't in a mood to chat and she was still surprised by ''the good job'' thing, so it would just feel a little bit awkward. She looked down on her sniper wondering if this was the right choice of weapon for her. She wanted to get stronger and after today she felt weak and that she had disappointed her mother. She could feel tears in her eyes but she wasn't about to cry not here. She needed to look strong and crying wasn't a part of being strong.

''I'm on my way'', said he before getting in the front. He checked his gun before putting it down but was still holding on to it ready to shoot if he needed. He was glad that they had got away safely so far and couldn't wait until they were at the base. ''I miss my bed'', said he to Clarisse and laughed a little.

He glances at Ellie, and then takes out the locket from the opening in his shirt. It's in a chain with his dogtag. Opening it he looks at the photo in the round frame, the faces of his deceased father and sister, and the smile on his mothers face. Being with a girl like Ellie today made him realise how much he misses his sister. And his mother. Hopefully this will soon be over and he can visit her.

She starts the engine and starts driving down the road. She glances at Gabe when he speaks and smiles a little, the gap between her teeth showing. "God, me too. I would give my right arm for my own bed and a hot shower right now." Clarisse lets out a low laugh.

It had been a nice and safe trip to the base. He had chat with Clarisse which he had enjoyed a lot. It was nice to finally feel like they were just living a normal life without zombies for a while. He got out from the van before looking around after Ellie but he couldn't see her. Maybe she had started to train like she usually does when she is at the base.

When they arrived to the homebase, his job was to help the group find a place to be and to go talk to their superior officer about their mission. When he got off the car he saw the other Carter - the boy, whatever his name was - and he walked up to them. "She ain't here," he says, standing next to Gabe. "She was the first one out. She jumped out of the van and stretched her arms above her head. She had gotten a few bruises on her body doing the fights, but no wounds, which she was a little proud about. When she starts walking towards the baracks she notices Gabe and Axel standing next to each other. She raises an eyebrow and frown, slightly confused. She kinda liked this Carter kid, he was a nice change from all of the serious types she hung around all of the time.

He looked at Axel before listen to what he had to say, ''I just hope she is okay...maybe I shouldn't have started to talk about our mother. She was really close to her so when she died Ellie kind of build up a wall. I just wish I could reach to her because she is my sister after all'', said he before shaking his head. ''I'm sorry for telling you a bunch of random stuff I will just go and check on her'', continued he to say before walking away.

He squeezes Gabe's shoulder and starts walking towards the baracks. He has to go see the officers anyways, so he might as well check up on the Carter girl. Before he dissapears into the baracks he shouts at Gabe. "And take a shower as well, will you? You stink."

She watches the interaction unfold and then notices Axel going into the baracks. Weird. She starts walking towards the tent that has been made into the cafeteria. She stops mid-step and turns to look at Gabe again. "Hey, Carter. Wanna grab some food?" Clarisse stands, waiting for a reply. She does not usually talk that much to anyone new, but Gabe seems nice and it's nice to have friends around here, so the world doesn't feel as dull.

Even if she was tired she still managed to get up and opened the door before walking slowly in the hall. Maybe she shouldn't have been training all night the last week, but she couldn't waste all these hours on sleeping and hanging out with people. This was a serious business and only the strongest will survive.

As he steps down the hall he notices Ellie. "Hey, um, private Carter," he says and starts walking towards her. The girl looks as wrecked as he feels, and it worries him slightly.

She throws her head back in a laugh and wiggles her eyebrows, "You don't have to tell me twice, i already spent a way to long car ride home with you." Clarisse sticks her tongue out at him and pinches her nose, waving her hand in front of it. She laughs again and then stops, smiling at Gabe.

A laugh leaves his mouth when Clarisse starts to joke about it. ''Just wait until I have talked a shower then you will never let me go'', joked him back before walking with her to the cafeteria. ''I wonder if they have any good food today or better then what we had for 3 days'', said he when they stood in the queue.

"Right," He says and looks at her, "Because training is good, especially when you can barely keep your eyes open." He looks at her pointedly and stands so he is covering a bit more of the hall, indicating that she shouldn't go.

She raises and eyebrow and lifts her chin up, "Oh, is that so?" she says, feeling a little warm. Following Gabe she stands with him in the queue. "Anything is better than that dog-food we have to take with us on missions," she mumbles and crosses her arms. The food at the base is not good, but she is hungry, and the smell of the food makes her stomach growl loudly.

''But I just hope it won't turn us into dogs because it would be weird if dogs started to fight against zombies''
