Arranged Marriage [Private RP]

Ayah laughed at his silly question. Of course he didn't talk too much, it was just with everything going on, she couldn't fully focus on conversation. "Of course not. Sorry for making you feel like that. It's just so much to take in." Ayah smiled at him as she watched him rub his fingers over her's. She gently laid her head on his shoulder and took a deep breath. "So Alex, are you keeping things up your sleeve as well? Or are you just a pilot that's going to inherit daddy's empire?" She teased. She hoped that Alex was able to take her dark humor. She had ruffled a few feathers in the past with her jokes, and she didn't want to do the same to Alex. She kept looking toward the sunset as she waited on Alex to respond. She prayed that he'd joke back with her instead of getting butt hurt.

Charles grinned from ear to ear. The sight of her in his home just seemed too good to be true. She looked as if she belonged there all along. Charles kept his eyes on her whilst he took a sip of his red wine, he never broke eye contact. "I thought you'd never ask." He laughed a bit before holding his hand out for her to grab. "Come along, Mrs. Wright." He playfully teased. He took another sip of the wine before laughing hysterically. He hoped that he wasn't ruining the moment but he definitely was feeling the alcohol so everything was funny to him. Once Carmen took his hand, he lead her down the hall and to the left. His room had double glass doors. He stood in front of the doors and grinned back at Carmen, "Ready?" He opened the doors and unleashed the massive part of his penthouse that he called his room. It was double the size of Carmen's. It had a long glass window wall. The room had the same theme as the entire house: black, white and gold. Instead of white furniture, his room had a black, tufted leather sofa, with a white faux fur rug. The coffee table was black with gold handles. Charles' California king sized bed had a black, tufted leather headboard to match the sofa. He also had a projector screen and a small bar in the corner of the room. He looked over at Carmen and smiled, "Okay, it's a little better than yours."

Alex smiled at her words, glad that he wasn't making her feel uncomfortable. It was a pretty overwhelming situation so he couldn't blame her for being lost in her thoughts. As she gently rested her head on his shoulder he felt the smile widen a little. Why did this feel so natural and .. normal? He'd always had the fear that arranged marriage stuff wouldn't go too well but so far it was going good. He liked Ayah and she seemed to like him back, plus they had formed some chemistry between them over the short space of time too. "I may well be but you'll have to wait to find out what they are," he teased her back with a laugh. He wasn't going to be spilling all of his secrets so soon to her. "Plus you mean we'll be inheriting daddy's empire," he corrected her. From this moment on, they would be a team and would have to do everything together so he was trying to get used to the idea. "What are you doing tomorrow?" he asked her, wanting to know if she was free or not. "I was thinking I could show you around the apartment if you wanted? Or we could go for some kind of 'first date'? If you can even call it that," he said with a laugh. It was all so weird and formal, he wasn't sure if this was their first date or what.

Carmen reached out for his hand as he pulled her from the bed, her lips forming into a smile as he used her new name. Or, well, soon to be name. His laugh was contagious and she found herself giggling along with him as she followed behind him towards his room. She took a sip from the glass of wine, nodding her head as he opened the doors to his own room. It was twice the size as hers had been and was much more extravagant. Not that she was surprised, the whole whole was something out a movie. " A little?" she said to him before shaking her head, walking a little further into his room as she took a sip from her wine glass. But she found herself gravitating back to the window again. The house was a little overwhelming but when she looked out the window at the sea and sun setting, she knew it was the same as always like nothing had changed. That eased her a little and she took another sip out of the wine glass, "Y'know the first thing I'm gonna paint once I move in is this view. It's outstanding," she said, not being able to take her eyes off it. "How can you not just stand here and watch it, every second of every day?" she said, in awe of what she was looking at. It may have been the artist inside of her but she was always more impressed with the views rather than material objects. Perhaps it was because she hadn't grown up with many of these things so she didn't know what she was missing out on. "Let me see your artwork?" she suggested, looking over her shoulder at since he'd mentioned it previously.

Ayah laughed a bit before answering. "Hmm, I was actually going to start designing my wedding dress." She laughed a bit, hearing wedding dress and her in the same sentence was comical to her. This arrangement was so sudden that she still hadn't had time to fully process all of the things that were needed to have a wedding, let alone be a wife. At first she wasn't going to be very hands on with the wedding but she was determined to put her personal touch on it. She didn't want the wedding to just be all of their parent's ideas. She wanted the wedding to be a fusion of her and Alexander's ideas. "But I guess I can make some time for my hubby..." Ayah lifted her head off of his shoulder and looked at him, "If he's open to telling me a little more about himself tomorrow." She said referring to Alexander in third person. Ayah giggled a little but she was being honest. She could sense that he wasn't telling much about himself, and she thought a date or a tour of his apartment may allow him to open up a little more.

Charles forgot that he told her that he liked to paint here and there. "It's in my studio." He said humbly. Although he had a studio, it was fairly small. He didn't know what to do with the room when he first moved into the penthouse so his interior designer suggested a studio and he's been attempting to paint ever since. Charles grabbed her hand and took her to another hallway that contained a door to his office and one to his studio. He didn't show Carmen his closet or bathroom because it was relatively the same as hers. Once they made it to the studio, he showed Carmen a small painting that he was working on. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best. "It's probably not as good as yours, but this is what I'm working on now. The rest are up there." He said pointing to the wall that contained many of his paintings. Some were worthy of being displayed and a few of them should've been scrapped. He put his hand around the back of his neck and waited on Carmen's critique.

Alex smiled at her answer, wondering what her dress wedding dress was looking like in her head. She'd spoken about it being a mermaid style but that was as far as she had gotten. Obviously he wouldn't see it till the wedding day due to tradition but he couldn't wait to see what she designed. The smile widened when she agreed to spend tomorrow with him. "Tell me what you want to know and I'll tell you, wifey," he said, using the same little nickname back at her. It was weird calling someone his wife. He still felt too young to be getting married in his mind. He knew he could talk too much so he'd held himself back from telling her about himself. But he was open to telling her anything she wanted to know. He felt like he wasn't a very interesting person but she could be the judge of that herself. "You let me know what you want to do tomorrow and I can get it sorted," he told her with a nod, wondering what she would pick to do. Perhaps she would want to see her new house? Or maybe it was too soon for that. He wasn't even sure when she would be moving in and if they would even have a say in the decision. He hoped she would be comfortable at the apartment, it wasn't as grand as his parents place but it was still quite fancy. Although he'd kept the decor much more relaxed instead of the formal statues and paintings here.

Carmen's face lit up at the sound of a studio and she followed behind him, letting her eyes gaze over the paintings. He was standing back, allowing her to make her judgement on them as she looked at each one individually. The small painting was about half way done so instead she looked at his others, taking a sip of her wine as she did so. It was a few moments before she spoke again, "I love them. Your use of colour is refreshing and the curved lines in each one just makes it feel so relaxed," she complimented him with a smile. "You said they were abstract blobs," with her eyebrows raised. Perhaps he was just being humble but she enjoyed his technique and she hoped that they could maybe paint in here together at some point. "I still can't believe that I'll be living here," she said with a shake of her head as she finished off the rest of her wine in the glass. It was all so overwhelming and she was glad she had the alcohol to give her some form of a boost. "Do we know when I've to move in? Or do we get to decide that ourselves?" she asked with a bemused smile on her face. Their parents seemed to have control over everything else so it would surprise her if they wanted to control this too.

Ayah grabbed her phone and went to her digital calendar, she playfully nudged Alex and bit her lip. "Hm, you suggested our apartment. Why don't we meet there tomorrow? Just tell me the time. Besides, I wanna make sure the closet is big enough." She teased. She did have a fair share amount of clothing and she knew that she'd need a huge closet to be able to properly store everything. At her house she had the closet in her room and in the guest room filled beyond capacity. Ayah was excited to see where she'd be living. She knew that it was going to be bigger than her house but she prayed that there was room for her to have her own space. One thing she did not want to do is lose herself in the midst of everything. Ayah looked down at her hand and then back at Alexander. She forgot that she still had on the massive ring. She smiled a bit, then made eye contact back with Alex. "I'd like to know simple things first. Like, what's your favorite color? and what's your favorite food? I don't know, really. Just small things that will draw me closer to you." She said honestly. She didn't want to feel like she was with a stranger, or with someone who was only showing one side of themself.

Charles smiled as he watched her analyze all of his paintings. Carmen was the first to know that he painted during his leisure time, so he was happy to hear her praise his work, even though it didn't seem to be that good to him. Maybe his expectations for himself were too high. Everyone can't be Picasso. Charles took another sip of wine from his almost empty glass. "Thank you Carmen. I appreciate it. And okay.... fine, they aren't exactly blobs. But they could be better." He said truthfully. He hated that he could never be satisfied with anything that he did. He was starting to realize that he inherited that personality trait from his mother. Charles was trying his hardest to break that, and he thought with Carmen around, maybe she could help him be happy with himself. "I haven't heard anything about a move in date but we are grown, so you can move in whenever you're ready." He paused for a second and laughed a bit, "But probably before the wedding." He joked. He didn't know if Carmen was really excited about moving in, or if she was just pretending to be. He on the other hand, was beginning to like the idea of it. He thought it would be fun.

Alex nodded at her as she spoke about coming over to see the apartment. He felt that was probably the best move because the sooner she saw it, the sooner she could move in to get settled. He wanted to give her as much time and space as possible to get comfortable around him before the wedding. So if they were living together they'd see each other a lot more. "Okay how about .. 12pm? I could make some lunch for you coming round if you'd like that?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow. He wasn't a chef but he'd at least try his best. His thumb continued to caress the top of her hand gently as she looked up to meet his eyes again. He smiled slightly at her when she started asking him some general questions. He knew he hadn't revealed much about himself but he was happy to share anything she wanted to know. After all it was the small things that counted  the most. "My favourite colour is navy blue and for food, it would have to be wings, the hotter the better," he said, nodding at the thought of it. He paused for a moment, deliberating whether to add anything else on, "My favourite animal is a tiger and if you were to ask me my favourite movie then I wouldn't be able to pick because the list is like a mile long," he said with a laugh, hoping those small answers would please her.

Carmen smiled at him when he admitted that his painting weren't blobs. She felt like he was being a little too hard on himself. Art was subjective and it depended on the viewer. She kept the smile on her face when he mentioned there was no move in date which made her feel better. To know there was no real rush calmed her ever present nerves a little. Although she was beginning to feel comfortable around Charles, she was still incredibly nervous about the whole situation. "Yeah sooner rather than later would be a good idea," she agreed with him, giving a light laugh along with him. She was half excited to move in but at the same time the thought of leaving her home behind made her feel incredibly upset. It was a few moments before she realised she;d been silent and she spoke up again, walking a little closer to him, "So what's this non-profit organisation you're setting up?" she asked him curiously, remembering what he had said at dinner. "I'm interested and I'd want to help .. or become a partner or whatever it is I could do," she said with a laugh. She didn't have a clue how she would become involved but she just hoped if she did and their parents saw it would maybe get them off her back a little. Plus now she was going to be part of his world and she wanted to understand it just a little bit better, so starting off with his interests and organisations he was starting seemed like a good place to start.

"Noon sounds good." Ayah said as she typed it in, lunch with hubby, on her phone calendar. Ayah giggled a little. This entire situation was still funny to her. Ayah's eyes lit up when she heard Alexander say that he liked hot wings. She too, was a huge hot wing lover. "I love hot wings as well. Maybe we can have that for lunch tomorrow?" She said with a raise of an eyebrow. She didn't know if he knew how to cook wings but she was sure if he didn't, he'd have his chef make it. Ayah continued to listen as Alexander told a few things about himself. It was a breath of fresh air to Ayah that Alexander was so down to earth. She didn't know if she would've been as enthusiastic to go on another date with him if he had acted like his mother. "My favorite color is pink and my favorite food would have to be either hot wings or ice cream!" She said playfully. She thought Alexander would be more comfortable if she talked about herself as well. The sun had finally set and it was beginning to get dark. Ayah looked behind her at the beautiful fountain that was now lit and changing colors. Ayah smiled to herself before seeing Alexander's butler walk towards them. "Alexander, your mother is requesting the both of you in the foyer." Ayah smiled faintly at the butler before standing. "Thank you, sir."

Charles drank the last sip of wine from his glass. He wasn't surprised that Carmen was interested in his non-profit organization but he was a little shocked that she wanted to get involved so early on. He smiled at her as he admired her blue eyes and small smile. "The purpose of the organization will be to help homeless people get back on their feet. So where we'd come in is, we'd house them, feed them and offer them free job readiness training. I'm working with a few of the trade schools near to start a program where some of them can go to actually get certifications in different trade programs such as welding, auto and cosmetology. There are a few more trades that I'd like to offer but I haven't had any time to meet with the other trade schools yet." Charles gently grabbed her hand as he lead them back into the kitchen, where he refilled their glasses. "Then while they are getting training, we'll be trying to find permanent homes for them, so they can move out of the shelters." Charles walked over to his fridge and pulled out a platter of different cheeses that would pair perfectly with their wine. "I'm still in the beginning stages but If I work hard enough, we can start building the shelters within the next 8 months." His non-profit was something that he was really proud of. It would allow him to official make a name for himself. He was happy to know that Carmen would be right there by his side.

Alex grinned at the fact they shared a similar taste in food. It was lucky for her that he knew how to make them well. He did have a chef but most of the time he just made his own food because it was pointless to have a chef there for one person. The only other staff he had was a maid and she came once a day to make sure he wasn't living in a pigsty. He was about to reply when the butler walked towards them, requesting their presence in the foyer. "Thank you Albert," he said politely to him, waiting until he had walked away before he spoke again. He moved closer to Ayah so he was whispering lightly in her ear, just in case Albert could still hear, "Let's not go, let's just go. I can take you to the apartment right now .. or I can take you home myself?" with a raised eyebrow. He didn't particularly want to face his mother again. They were getting along being alone and the last thing he wanted was for their parents to ruin that. They'd been interrupted with a dinner last time and now god knows what they would want from them. He hoped that she'd agreed with him and want to leave too. Alex wasn't one to follow the rules and mostly opted to take his own path and make his own decisions, something his mother hated. Perhaps that was another reason she had arranged this marriage was to try and tame him a little.

Carmen nodded as she listened to his words. He was really passionate about it and it made her smile knowing that her soon to be husband had so much compassion for others who were less fortunate. If he wanted to e could just pretend like he didn't notice them but here he was actually planning on setting up shelters for them with money out of his own pocket. When he returned with the cheese board, she reached over to take his hand from across the counter gently, "That's so amazing and the fact you'll have it ready so quickly is just mind blowing," she told him, impressed by his work ethic. She picked the glass of wine back up as she took a sip, her eyes finding his own again as she smiled, "I'd like to help, if you don't mind," she said to him, being a little cautious because she didn't want to feel like she was intruding on his business. "I could scout out some more trade schools for you or I could even go meet with them if you trust me enough?" she said to him with a little laugh. She was pretty sure she could give a good sales pitch but she wasn't sure if she held the same amount of charm as Charles possessed. The reason she'd went into nursing was because she had a real passion for helping others. It made her feel happy within herself so this was the perfect opportunity for her. "Do you need me to give you a sales pitch to show how well I can schmooze?" she asked him, putting the glass of wine down as she straightened up, fixing her hair a little as if that would make her look more professional.

Alexander's rebellious nature was bit of a turn on to Ayah. Hence, why she was excited to sneak off with him. Although she was head-strong, she often obeyed what her parents' orders. Ayah's obedience to her parents' demands were a huge part of why Ayah went along with the arranged marriage. She found it to be easier to just listen to her parents instead of defying them because they'd always financially cut her off or take things away that she needed. Although they weren't rich, Ayah's father still gave her an allowance since she was just finishing her master's degree and about to go to law school. When Ayah was younger, she noticed immediately that her parents were using money to control her, so she was happy to know that she no longer had to please them in order to have an income. Although initially Ayah wasn't happy about the marriage, she was beginning to be grateful for Alexander because she knew that he'd help break her parents hold on her. Ayah bit her bottom lip before smirking, "Ooohkay... we can go back to your place." Ayah giggled a little bit hoping that she didn't sound too flirtatious. She stood up and placed her hand into his, as he lead the way towards his car.

Charles chuckled at Carmen offering to give him a sales pitch. Although he was going to allow her to work with him, he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to see her try to schmooze him. He watched as she tried to fix her hair and straighten out her dress, he laughed on the inside but kept a straight face. Charles was mesmerized by Carmen. He kept his eyes on her, hoping to not make everything awkward but he couldn't help but admire her. Every second he spent with her, he enjoyed. Carmen made marriage seem like it was going to be fun and the fact that they didn't know each other just added extra excitement. "Okay, Shoot!" Charles said playfully. He knew that she wouldn't have to do much to schmooze him or anyone else, she had a natural radiance that drew people to her. Charles felt lucky to have a partner who seemed to be interested in everything that he was. It was also really refreshing to know that he'd have help and that he wouldn't have to do everything on his own. Maybe this arranged marriage wasn't so bad after all? He thought to himself. Charles snacked on a piece of brie cheese before washing it down with wine.

Alex exhaled a breath he didn't know he'd been keeping in when Ayah agreed to skip the meeting in the foyer and to come back to the apartment with him. She took his hand and he started to lead her towards the garage to get his car, but remembered about Albert. He turned to call on him, "Albert!" he called as the butler turned around with a confused look on his face. "Wait right here, I'll be a minute," he promise Ayah, giving her hand a quick squeeze. "Can you tell my parents, or well, my mother, that I've taken Ayah to look around her new home? Tell her I'll call her tomorrow," he said to Albert quickly who nodded his head. He then jogged back to where Ayah was, a smile on his face, "Okay let's go," he said, pulling her towards the garage. It was a large space that held quite a few cars, mostly his fathers but Alex could borrow any of them whenever he wanted too. But he had his pride and joy, the black Lambo Huracan. Back at his apartment he had a few more cars which he liked to work on when he had the time but this was his most used car. He opened the door for Ayah, allowing her to climb in before he got in himself, turning the car on and revving the engine a little. Driving in this made him feel so free and alive, "You might want to put your seat belt on," he teased her lightly as he drove out of the garage and out the back entrance that he had entered through, giving a wave to the guard as he did so.

Carmen felt his eyes on her and if anything, it boosted her confidence to know that he was interested in what she was about to say. "Do you ever feel like you're missing something from your life?" she started off with a rhetorical question, continuing quickly before he could say anything, "Well Mr Wright, believe me when I say I am the missing cog in your system. I work in a trade job myself so I feel I am more than capable of approaching others to convince them to take part. Hell I'll even bake some muffins and take them along to sweeten the deal," she said teasingly with a laugh. "I'm quite handy too. I managed to put a shelf up on my wall by myself so I know my way around a tool," she said, not being able to help herself as she gave him a wink. "I'd be an asset to your team and I'll support you in every step," she said as he picked up a piece of cheese and popped it in her mouth as she chewed on it thoughtfully. "Oh and I'll even treat you to dinner if you pick me, but don't tell anyone else I've been flirting with the boss," she said teasingly, nudging his arm with her own as she finished her 'sales pitch' on herself and sat back down at the counter. "So do I get the job?" she asked with a raised eyebrow as he picked her glass of wine back up.

Ayah shook her head in disbelief. There was no way on earth that all of these cars belonged to the three of them. There were so many cars in the garage that one could mistake it for a car lot. Ayah wasn't sure if she'd be able to get used to this life. It was a bit excessive, she didn't understand the need for so many cars. Once they arrived in front of his Lamborghini, Ayah's jaw dropped. There was no way that this was his car. She'd only seen cars like this in movies and music videos. She watched as Alexander opened the door for her and helped her inside. Ayah ran her hand across the black leather as she watched Alexander's eye light up with joy. She could tell that he really liked this car. Ayah giggled and reached for her seatbelt, "You don't have to tell me twice." She quickly fastened herself in and laid back into the seat, trying to prepare herself for the high speeds that Alexander was about to go. Ayah sat back and began to wonder what his apartment would be like. She knew that it would probably be as extravagant as his parents, just smaller. Ayah looked over at Alexander and faintly smiled. Ayah still felt a little uneasy with how fast everything was going. She admired Alexander's fun nature but she was still afraid that things were going too fast.

Watching Carmen's energy was very electrifying for Charles. She was really fun to be around and he enjoyed her sales pitch. Not only did he find Carmen to be extremely attractive but he admired her for being intelligent as well. Charles found himself biting his lip a little bit. He liked her flirtatious nature and he wanted to see more of this side. He was convinced that the alcohol was the blame for how he was feeling right now. Sure, he liked her but normally he'd have a much better poker face than this. "Oh, you're hired." He said as he leaned over and seductively whispered in her ear. Charles sat back down in his seat, and took a sip from his wine glass without breaking eye contact with Carmen, "Are you always this fun?" He could truly see himself having a good time with her. Charles was starting to believe that she was a good match for him.

Alex couldn't help but to laugh as she quickly reached for her seat belt, it was like she knew what was coming. He pulled out of the gate slowly, stopping at the red light outside his parents house. "This is like my baby," he said rubbing the dashboard lightly as he laughed at her face. "There's another small fact about me .. I really like cars. I used to fix them up when I was younger which was why there were so many at my parents," he explained to her as the light turned green and he sped off. He was trying his best to obey the speed limits because he didn't want to scare Ayah or make her feel uneasy. But in reality he just wanted to put his foot on the pedal and speed down the streets. She was pretty quiet again so he decided to bite his tounge, allowing her the space to just think things over because he knew it was a big step coming to see the apartment this early on. He pulled up to the gate and rolled down the window so the guard could see it was him. Technically they needed passes but they all knew him anyway. He drove down the driveway and pulled into one of the spaces in the underground garage, turning to look at her, "Are you okay? If you're not ready for this and it's all too much I can take yo home instead?" he asked her gently. The last thing he wanted was to rush into everything and for her to freak out.

Carmen's lips fell to Charles' lips as he bit the bottom one as he leaned over to whisper in her ear. She could feel her heart rate increase and she had the urge to shiver from his seductive whisper. If this had been a different situation she would have been all over him. She wasn't one to hold back but this was different. She'd be spending the rest of her life with man so she didn't want to give him the wrong impression. Plus she wanted to do this right. Too many times Carmen had rushed into things and ended up with a broken heart or a confused head. She lifted the glass to her lips as she took a sip, a smile on her face as he spoke, "Maybe not always," she said to him with a raised eyebrow. "I think the wine and the gin is starting to mix," she said with a little giddy laugh. The alcohol was certainly to blame for her confidence and she really hoped she wouldn't embarrass herself in front of him. "But, I do believe that because we only have one life, why not make it fun?" she asked him teasingly as she picked up another piece of cheese, taking a small bite out of the piece. Charles' gaze was very intense and she could feel the power radiating from him. But if anything it just drew her closer to him.

Ayah nodded her head as she listened to him express his love for cars. She was surprised that he used to work on cars when they could've easily just paid to get them fixed. She admired that he didn't mind getting his hands dirty and doing hard work. Ayah smiled at Alexander to reassure him that she was okay with this. Although she felt a bit rushed, she wanted to take this time to get to know Alexander. Besides, Ayah knew if she waited to see his apartment, their parents' probably would've tagged along for her tour and she wanted to avoid that. The last thing she wanted was them to ruin her experience of seeing where she'd be moving to. Ayah was amazed at the huge underground garage. The garage was similar to the underground parking garages that were at some malls.  Based off of the garage alone, Ayah knew that his home was going to be massive in size. Ayah bit down on her lip and softly mumbled, "I'm ready, Alexander." She glanced up and made eye contact with him. Staring into his shining brown eyes made her heart skip a beat. She could not deny the attraction.

There was so much sexual tension in the air that it made Charles a little uncomfortable with himself. He hated that was allowing his manhood to subliminally dictate the way he was behaving. Charles nodded his head agreeing with Carmen, "yeah, I think I've had one too many drinks tonight." Charles chuckled at her motto, "You have a point." He said as he stood from his seat and emptied his glass in the sink. He didn't want to drink anything else, especially if he had to take Carmen back home. "Carmen, what do you think of me so far?" He asked boldly. Usually he didn't really care for people's opinions but her's mattered to him. His worst fear was that she was just pretending to like him. He wanted to make sure that the attraction to one another was mutual. Charles grabbed another piece of cheese and took a bite as he tried to read Carmen's facial expressions.

Alex smiled at Ayah when she told him that she was ready. It was good to hear the words come out of her mouth instead of him just assuming that she was ready. He got out the car and walked around to help her out the car too. "So this is the shared garage so when you move in I'll get you a designated spot right next to me," he told her with a grin but then he paused for a moment. "You drive right?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow. It was so weird to him because they barely knew anything about each other. He didn't even know if she drove and here he was taking her up to his apartment to show her where she'd be living for the foreseeable future. He held his hand out for her to take before he led her towards an elevator which would take them straight up to the penthouse. There was a lobby area too but this was just a direct lift to the penthouse. He had a specific key to put in that would take him directly up which eh fumbled with for a few moments. His apartment was close to the city centre because he liked the hustle and bustle so the as the glass lift moved up they got a good view of the city. But Alex couldn't help but to gaze at Ayah instead. She was so beautiful and even though she was bound to be overwhelmed she seemed to be taking it well. They got to the top and the elevator doors slid open to reveal the living room, "Welcome home Mrs Thompson," he teased, allowing her to walk out first. Alexander had an interior decorator design the space but it was still mostly his minimalist style. Black and white were included with a few red or gold items scattered around the room. The furniture was expensive and he stood back a little, allowing Ayah to just take everything in.

Carmen watched as he stood up to pour the rest of his wine down the sink as she sipped on the rest of her own. She probably should've got rid of hers too but it tasted so expensive she didn't want to waste it. His question was a little bit like a slap in the face and she blinked, taking a few beats to process it, "Um ... " she trailed off for a moment with a weak laugh. She wasn't going to lie, she was going to be truthful because she didn't see the point in sugar coating things. "I'd heard .. things about you before we met so I was trying to come into this with an open mind and I can truthfully say I'm pleasantly surprised," she told him with a nod of her head. "You have this powerful aura, which is a little overwhelming. But you have kindness, compassionate and real ambition too which I really admire," she told him, giving a small smile at the end. She wasn't sure how he would take what she had said. But if she was being honest she'd heard about his playboy ways and the fact that he was a daddy's boy, working for the family business. Carmen knew not to judge someone on someone else's opinion. She leaned her elbow on the counter, her chin resting on her hand as she gazed across at him, "Does this mean I get to ask your opinion of me?" she asked, almost a little afraid of what he would say.

Ayah felt Alexander's eyes on her while they were on the elevator. The view was too nice to pass up and unlike anything she'd ever seen, so Ayah just stared out of the glass elevator until they made it to correct floor. She couldn't help but wonder what else his apartment had to offer. She'd only been in the garage and elevator and she was already amazed. Alexander lead the way into the apartment and Ayah couldn't believe her eyes. Ayah enjoyed the open concept layout of the penthouse. As she stepped inside, she could see the massive living area and kitchen. The floors were a matte black, which made all of the white furniture pop. Ayah appreciated the red and gold accent colors. She made her way into the kitchen and admired the quartz countertops. She could see herself attempting to cook there. She wasn't terrible but she knew that she had to improve. The kitchen was equipped with top of the line, stainless steel appliances. There was a huge quartz island with a sink. Ayah could see them entertaining there in the future. Ayah looked over at Alexander and smiled. "Wow, this is beautiful!"

Charles clenched his jaw, afraid of what rumor she had heard. Charles was used to people gossiping about him and he usually wouldn't pay it any mind but knowing that she'd heard things about him left a bitter taste in his mouth. Charles lightly chuckled, trying to act unfazed by her knowing things about him prior to them meeting. "What did you hear about lil' ole' me?" He said as he put his hand on his chest and tried to act shocked. He was curious to know what rumor was circulating around the city now. He was happy that his behavior contradicted whatever rumor that had been going around. He was sure that the rumors were started by women that he'd been with in the past, who wanted to be with him but he just wasn't interested in having an exclusive relationship with. Charles began to gently caress the top of her hand while he stared deep into her eyes. "Well, Carmen. If I'm being honest, I'm drawn to you. You have this very mysterious vibe and I don't know if it's because you have your guard up, but It intrigues me and just makes me want to get to know you." Charles took another bite of cheese, still keeping eye contact with Carmen. "You have the ability to light up the room when you walk in. You're beautiful, smart, funny and selfless." Charles continued to caress her hand as he thought for a moment, "You're fun to be around and I admire your confidence."
