Cole smiled brightly.
"Anything for you, my dear. Have you booked an appointment?" He hopped off the counter. He had nothing to do that day and was pretty raring to go. That was until she dropped the P word. He looked at her, his eyebrows raising quickly. "Pregnant? What do you mean, pregnant?!" His stomach did a big flip. It had been a month since they'd returned, could it be his? Or TJ's?

Cara was waiting in the park. She'd been there for a while but had took to walking around to clear her head. She wasn't showing yet and hadn't even booked in for a scan, but she had took all the tests. There wasn't any denying that she was pregnant and it was Alex's. There was no possibility of it being someone else's. She headed back to the entrance and took a seat on a bench. She looked up at the towering trees above her, while she thought and waited.

Auden's eyebrows knitted together as she watched how the familiar look fell over his face. "For fuck's sake, I thought parents usually gave the sex talk when their kid reached the age of 10. Do you really need me to explain how it works?" She asked sarcastically, a small smile developing. Leaving him in the kitchen, she walked into the living room and took a seat on the sofa before grabbing her phone from its hook. Looking at the numbered keys, she tried to remember her doctor's number.

Alex stopped the car once he'd reached the park. Grabbing a cigarette from the pocket of the car's seat, he lit it after stepping out from the car. He took a long drag as he looked around the park from the street. Exhaling slowly he walked in, finding Cara shortly as she was seated at the entrance. He took took a seat on the end of the beach, staring down at the cigarette that was losing its size. He took another toke before leaning back on the bench and stretching his arms out."How are you?" He asked through a mouthful of smoke.

Cole narrowed his eyes at her, following her through to the living room.
"You know that isn't what I meant!" He walked to her at the sofa but sat on the coffee table so he was directly in front of her. He was ready for as soon as she was off the phone, his arms crossed against his chest. He wanted to know why she thought she was and how long she'd thought it for. He wasn't ready for a baby, God no.

Cara watched him as he walked through and took a seat on the opposite end. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she looked away from him.
"I'm fine, how are you and Katia?" After he answered, she turned to face him properly, her one leg rising to curl across the space between them. "Look, I can't do small talk right now so I'm just gonna say it and get it over with." She took a small pause while she focused her thoughts, exhaling quietly. "I'm pregnant, Alex, and it's yours."

Auden listened to the assistant who told her she'd be able to go in later on in the day. Nodding her head, Auden grabbed the small notepad she kept on the coffee table, not bothering to look at Cole who stood in front of her. She quickly scribbled the time onto the bad before ending the phone call and bringing the pad onto her lap. She'd finished writing but she needed a distraction and doodling on the edges of the paper seemed like the best distraction there was.

Alex raised his eyebrow when she told him that she was pregnant. It was only up until the point that declared it was his was when he felt as if the wind had been knocked from his lungs. He didn't look at her, even when he felt her turn in the chair to look at him. He just couldn't bring himself to do it. He was engaged to one woman and was having a child with another. His mind just couldn't process the information causing him to let out a deep sigh. "Congratulations but...how do I know that it's mine? No offence but we had a one night stand about a month ago and since then we haven't seen one another. So, how can I be sure that it's mine?" He didn't mean to sound like an arse but it was a question that he felt needed to be answered.

Cole watched as she began to doodle on the edges of the notepad, his eyebrows raising in surprise. Considering the news she had given him, she didn't seem all that concerned or worried. He wondered how long she had thought it, whether she had just become used to the news, unlike himself.
"So, what did they say?" There was a hint of impatience in his voice but he was just nervous for her.

Cara had been expecting that question, even though she thought it a bit silly. If she were trying to pass the baby off on to someone, it sure as hell wouldn't be Alex. She'd done enough to Katia and truly didn't want to hurt her anymore. She remained calm to answer, 100% honest in her answer.
"There's no one else it could be. Before you, I hadn't had sex in months after a break up. After you, I was so mortified about what I'd done... Sex was the last thing on my mind. It's yours, Alex."

Auden looked up from the notepad, her eyebrows raising at the slight impatience she detected in his voice. "I have an appointment at four either today or tomorrow, she said she'll call me back to confirm. But Cole, as I said, you don't have to come. You're nervous and I'm trying to stay calm about the whole situation so if you do want to come, you need to calm down." Tossing the pad onto the sofa, she glanced over at the clock that was perched on the wall above the tv. "If it does turn out that I am...pregnant then well, I'll deal with it." She sighed before rubbing her temples.

Alex leaned forward as he took everything in. He was in no shape or form ready to become a father. In fact the thought of every having kids never crossed his mind. He had Katia and figured there would be some time before he had to think about those sorts of things. But he knew that he couldn't just get up and leave Cara on the bench to deal with it alone. After taking one last drag, he stubbed the cigarette out on the bench and dug his hands deeply into the pockets of his sweatshirt. "You're completely sure, yeah? You've been to the doctor?"

Cole's brows furrowed a little as he listened.
"I want to come but... come on, it's hard to be calm." He stood up from the coffee table and walked outside, digging out a pack of cigarettes and putting one between his lips. It might not even be his but there's a 50% chance it could be. His life would be effectively over and what about Auden? TJ? He sighed, sparking up the light at the end of it, taking a long drag while he did. He stood in the doorway while he smoked, eventually turning around to face into the room to speak to her. "Why don't we just pop to the shop and buy a home test kit? We'll know then and the doctors can just... i don't know, confirm it for certain or some shit?"

Cara nodded but then shook her head.
"I'm certain but I haven't been to the doctors. I've got an appointment later." She wasn't sure how to explain it but even if the tests weren't available, Cara just knew she was. She just knew it. "Of course you don't have to come to it, I'm pretty sure Katia will want to know what's happened and she'll need time... like you do." She glanced down at her hands, knotting in her lap. She was terrified.

Auden breathed in deeply before exhaling slowly after his suggestion. While she knew she had to find out sooner or later, the thought of taking a home test kit made her feel nervous. What if the results turned out positive? How could she deal with not knowing the paternity of her own child? She slowly leant forward and ran her fingers through her hair as she tried to forget the thoughts. What if she wasn't pregnant? Nodding her head, she got up from the sofa and walked over to the door. "You'll drive?"

It was only until he noticed her hands tangle nervously together in her lap that he turned slightly to look at her. "Why wouldn't I come? If it is my kid then of course I'd want to go along with you. Katia will understand and regardless of how much time it takes, I still want to be there for you too. I did get you into this situation so you shouldn't have to deal with it alone." He shrugged, before sliding off of the bench and wiping the small wood chunks from his pants. "Don't worry, everything will be alright." He said calmly,  a little bit surprised at how he'd managed to keep it together.

Cole watched as she thought about it, knowing she'd want to, since it would reassure her. Or, worry her to death. No, no, it will reassure her. She wasn't pregnant. She couldn't be. He nodded his head and crossed the room to her, taking his car keys from his pocket.
"Where do you even get them from?" He raised his eyebrow and went outside to the car, unlocked it and climbed inside. He didn't have a single clue about what he was doing, he'd never dealt with a pregnancy scare. Which was surprising considering his status in the town. He wasn't the priest, let's just say.

Cara felt relief wash over her as he said he'd be there. She couldn't bear to face it alone, she felt sick with worry and nervousness. She nodded her head and smiled a little at him.
"Thank you." She wasn't really sure what else there was to say. She was just pleased that he was a good guy. Any other man would have flew away in the blink of an eye. She stood up hastily and gave him a quick hug. "I'll call, ok? Let you know when the appointment is and everything so you can come." She pulled away and turned to walk off. She didn't want to keep him because she could only imagine how Katia was feeling.

Auden got in the car after he'd unlocked it, buckling her belt as she tried to figure which shop nearest them would have it. "There's a grocery that usually carries them but the pharmacy is the closest. Head straight down the road until you see this green house, then you'll make a left." She instructed before resting back into her seat. With the little bit of hope she had, she prayed that she wasn't pregnant.

Alex watched her for a minute as she walked off, exiting the park and eventually leaving his sight. He massaged the back of his neck as he walked back towards his car, wondering how he'd be able to explain this one to Katia. He'd already put her through a lot and his stomach was filled with a nervous feeling as he wondered how she would take it. Pulling out his keys from his pocket, he opened the door before getting into the car and starting it up. After checking for any cars in his mirror, he pulled off and headed back home.

Cole nodded and flicked on his stereo, the 197 ringing out. He took a deep breath as he drove, trying to concentrate on the music to calm him. He drove just as she said, straight along until he saw the green house, where he took a left. He carried on driving, keeping an eye out for the pharmacy. He stopped near the entrance and looked at her.
"Wanna just grab it and jump back in? It'll be quicker because I'll keep the car running."

Katia was sat at home, where she hadn't moved from the entire time he'd been gone. Her hands were writhing together as she stared at the door. What could she want with him? It was strange and really unsettled her. She just didn't know what to do with herself.

Auden nodded her head before unbuckling the seat belt and running into the pharmacy. She hummed to herself as she walked up to the area they kept the condoms and pregnancy tests. She laughed a little to herself, getting a few sour looks from an older woman who passed her by. She found it funny how they placed both things near each other. Grabbing one, she walked over to the counter and placed it down. She kept her eyes away from the cashier who wished her luck. Reaching into her wallet she grabbed out the money and handed it over, not bothering to wait for her money back. Grabbing the bag, she hurried back out to the car and got into the seat. "Hurry now, the suspense is killing me." She joked dryly as she looked down into the bag.

Alex stopped his car when he reached their house. Taking his keys from out of the holder, he opened the door slowly and climbed out before heading towards the house. He found the house key, the thoughts of Cara and a baby still fresh on his mind. Opening the door, he stopped when he found Katia still sitting on the sofa. He needed to prepare himself before talking to her. He closed the door quietly behind himself before going into their bedroom, his stomach knotting up. He pulled his sweatshirt off and sniffed it quickly. Deciding it wasn't dirty, he tossed it onto the bed and grabbed a shirt from out of the bureau.

Cole smirked a little and started the car. The right music always seemed to help calm his nerves and The 1975 did just the trick. He leant back in his seat, relaxed, and drove off. He looked across at the bag and then back at the road, nudging his head up a little as he asked the question.
"So what kind is in the bag? Just blue lines or the kind that speak to you?" He smirked wider at just the thought. That would be the creepiest thing ever.

Katia looked across at him, expecting him to tell her straight away so she frowned when he just moved to the bedroom. Her stomach did a flip when she realized the chance of it being anything good was obliterated.  She stood up and went to the kitchen, flicking on the kettle and setting out two cups of coffee. She closed her eyes and exhaled, waiting for him to come and explain to her.

Auden tapped her fingers on her lap in tune to the music, thoughts of her and Matthew Healy marrying filling her head. Running her fingers through her hair she glanced over at Cole and let out a small giggle. "They really have those? Sounds weird...I'd feel like I was peeing on a person. I got the blue line one." She looked out of the window, watching as the house passed by. When they got to her apartment, she waited for Cole as he parked the car before stepping out of the car.

Alex bit his lip when he decided he'd wasted enough time in the bedroom. He walked back into the living room and took a seat on the sofa, biting his lip a little as he tried to think of how he should start. "Kat, Cara's umm..." He trailed off, his eyes eventually dropping to the seams on the couch. He nervously picked them as he waited for her to join him on the sofa.

Cole shrugged his shoulders and laughed.
"I have no idea, I fucking hope not." He pulled up outside her apartment, taking the keys from the ignition and climbing out. He ran his hand back through his hair, as he pushed the car door shut, stopping it from blowing around in the wind. He followed her to the apartment, going inside after her and took a seat on the sofa. He waved his hands and leant back. "Go on, quick, we need to know."

Katia made the cups of coffee, knowing he was waiting for her in the living room as she had heard him enter the room. She took a deep breath, her stomach hot and churning. She picked the two cups up and carried them through to the living room, keeping her eyes on the cups as she didn't dare to look at him yet. She placed them down on the table in front of him and then took a seat beside him. She slowly looked up at him and raised her eyebrows.
"So?"
