I opened a door which led into a kitchen. I looked at the white floor, or at least it used to be white. Now it was filled with blood. I slammed my hand on one of the iron shelves to lure out anything that may be in here.

I heard several groans coming nearer and nearer. I threw my crossbow on the iron shelf knowing i had no use of it if there was many on the way. I pulled out my gun when i saw the first one turn the corner of the kitchen. I aimed and shot him and hit him in the elbow making him more angrier.

I'd make a shot to attract their attention, but wasting a bullet on something like that could turn out to be lethal. Instead I stopped mid-hallway, before moving over to one of the walls. I hit it hard, my palm prickling painfully on impact. They might be dead, but they still had some hint of intelligence, and it seemed sound always made them curious, hungry as they were. I hit the wall again then, after getting no reaction the first time. Jeremiah was still close by, and I knew he'd have my back, should they decide to show up for a meal. It was then that I heard the groans, coming from the farthest end of the hallway.

The shot i took had lured more of them out, i had noticed Venus coming into the room. I took my crossbow and aimed at the head of the thing closest to us and the arrow went right to the skull. I tossed the bow on the ground and aimed with my gun at another one coming towards us

Almost as if bracing myself for impact, I tightened the grip on my rifle, as if they'd rip it out of my hands at first chance. Jeremiah walked in front of me, as inhuman bodies stumbled out of what certainly felt like every door. My finger immediately pulled the trigger, repeatedly, a reflex worked into me since the day I was old enough to pick a weapon up. Careful not to hit Jeremiah, I moved closer, blood spraying everywhere, on me included. It wasn't something I was not used to, foregin blood had become nothing more than drops of water these past year.

(going to bed soon idk when, but i'll write slowly on my phone if i don't go to sleep)

'Good work' I thougth for myself, smashing skulls with my bat. It was a pure bloodbath, with blood spraying on the floor, up the wall, over me and Emery.

I shot bullet after bullet at the things when they came for us, i managed to hit some of them while Venus took care of the rest. It was nice to have someone have your back and i knew i would return the favor one day because the world we live in isnt safe. I smiled after the last one laid dead on the ground. "Thank you for having my back" i said to Venus and gave her a little smile.
