Adam watched her facial expressions carefully, "you look tired darling. I think we both are." he ran a hand through his hair and rolled his head back. "But you are right. That showed we are never safe in this world so I'm going to say something just to get it out and make sure it's heard before it's too late." he swallowed a little, "I like you, a lot Lexi. That's why I worried earlier. But I promise not to mention it again and that's all I had to say" he closed his eyes, not sure he wanted to see her reply.

"i'm shattered, i'll admit that. it's been a long day and my body feels like it can't take any more." she shrugged and rubbed her forehead, stretching her legs out, she bit on her bottom lip, turning her head when she heard him speaking. and that's when it hit her. it was almost as if she had zoomed in on him and all she could feel was him. she gulped and nodded. "okay.. I get that but uhm.. I just.. I don't know what to say." she rubbed the back of her neck.

He stood up, rubbing the back of his neck. "For tonight stay in your room. You need a familiar bed and room to help with a good nights sleep."

"I appreciate it I really do. but i'm not the girl for you, adam. i'm harsh and blunt and i'm not very loving. you deserve someone who will treat you good, not me." she went over and sat on the arm of the chair, her hand on his cheek. "and i'd appreciate it if you stayed in my room tonight. I don't particularly like the thought of being alone right now."

Adam felt his heart being stabbed, was this heartbreak he was experiencing. "You are more then what you think you are Lexi. And you are the perfect person that I am not worthy of." he nodded his head and smiled a little. "I'll stay with you. and I'm glad you don't snore or else my ears would hurt" he ran a hand lightly along her cheek before sighing. "up we go"

lexi sighed. she could physically feel his heart breaking. god damn it. had their words to one another made some sort of connection? it was almost as if his pain was hurting her, also. "you have no idea what i'm like.. I wouldn't make you happy, no matter how much you think it. i'm an awful person, adam." she nuzzled into his hand for a moment before standing up, nodding. "come on then."

He carefully picked her up in his arms, "im not letting you hurt those ribs ant further tonight" he smiled, walking up the stairs not caring if she complained about him carrying her. When they were finally upstairs he placed her carefully back onto her feet.

Adam couldn't help but laugh at her little huff, "you look cute when you huff at me like that Lexi. I should carry you more often." he smiled before going into his own room. Changing into a pair of lounge trousers and leaving his top half empty. He then vanished into the bathroom to brush his teeth like a good boy.

"i'll just bite you next time, see if you like that." she shook her head and went into the bathroom after him to brush her teeth also. she grinned a little at him and waggled her eyebrows cheekily as she brushed her teeth, humming quietly to herself. she rinsed her mouth out and then went to her bedroom.
