Her mind stopped and backtracked; I kissed Wesley. In that moment her knees went a little bit week and a smile crossed her lips. Trying to distract herself she continued flicking through recruitment apps and sending her CV into any jobs that connected her to art. There were only a small handful and one was as a part time art teacher for the local primary school which could be fun, though not exactly what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

Nathan was unbelievably nervous, the moment Adelita had agreed to go for dinner with him he had made a reservation at one of the nicest restaurants in town. He had requested a table in a quieter spot of the building but with seats and a glass of bubbles upon arrival. Usually Nathan would just take girls to the local nandos and not make too much effort, but this was a unique opportunity and he really didn't want to fuck things up. As he stepped into the restaurant he was led to his table where he waited for Ad to arrive. He didn't mind that she had plans before hand which was why he was not arriving with her, he just hoped this wasn't some sort of set up to make a fool out of him.

Adelitas heart was beating at about a thousand miles an hour. It had been over a year since she'd got involved this deep and her gut was telling her it was so wrong. The blackmails and death threats she was receiving, however, told her she had absolutely no choice at all. Stood on the inside of an alleyway just down from the busy side of them, the little baggies of powder and tabs in her back pocket, this was it. The gentleman walked towards her with a dirty smirk on his lips and his hand clasped her throat for a moment, Adelita swiftly placed the small bags in his front pocket and slid the cash, along with his entire wallet, out, letting him walk away without a word. Just praying Nathan wouldn't be too mad.

It was now half seven, Nathan had been waiting for just shy of half an hour and he was feeling a pit in his stomach. His phone was now sat on the table and he kept checking to see if she would at least appear active on facebook but it was still showing as 'Active 2 Hours Ago'. Maybe she is having a wardrobe malfunction?! Yaknow that's a thing that happens to women all the time.. Or.. Or maybe she's just fallen asleep? or her cab is late? or her phone is dead AND her cab got lost? He was trying to deny the inevitable fact - it looked like she was standing him up. The waiter came over to the table, "Good evening sir, would you like to order anything?" Nathan gave him a quick , rather insecure smile, "can I just get a glass of water. I'm still waiting on my date to show up, she's caught in traffic." he chuckled weakly at the end of his lie.

Adelita watched the man walk off and waited a good ten minutes for him to be completely out of the zone before she sprinted out of the alleyway and all the way home. Maybe if she managed to change in time she'd be able to still meet Nathan at the restaurant, be able to try and think of some explanation without making him to angry. But who was she kidding? He was going to be fuming, and she didn't blame him. There was just some things she couldn't explain. Bolting through the front door, she ran up to her room and dived in, leaning against it for a moment just to take a few deep breaths and compose herself. Glancing a ther phone, she swore under her breath. There was no way he'd wait this long for her. She'd screwed it all up.

Nathan waited another twenty minutes before rising from his seat, it was time to do the walk of shame out of this damn restaurant. People had been giving him funny looks and laughing under their breath for quite some time. Heck; even the waiters were coming by to check if he was still waiting on his 'mystery date'. Once he was out in the open he let out a huge sigh and a quiet fuck under his breath. What a waste of time. He started to walk home, not in any particular rush considering he lived with Ad and right now he didn't really want to see her. However he pulled his phone out and messaged Wes, "hey .. you won't believe it, I got stood up. I'll probably be late home tonight gonna go watch the game in the pub or something. just so you don't stay up worrying about me ; ) xo ". Even his attempt at text message humour wasn't enough to raise his spirits even if it was just going to be momentarily.

Adelita stripped off her jumper and jeans and sat herself on the edge of her bed. Adrenaline still rushing deep through her veins, she hadn't had this sort of a euphoric rush is crazy, well since she got locked up. The feeling of danger didn't something inside her, the fear mixed with the power simply went straight to her mind. Finally pulling op her message screen, she hovered over Nathan's name before pulling up their message thread. I'm sorry. Things got hectic. I'll make it up to you. Promise. She pulled on a small black lace cross over body suit tucked into some leather look leggings, showing off essentially every curve that she owned. Running her fingers through her hair she applied some red lipstick. If they couldn't have dinner out, maybe he'd agree to her cooking them a meal.

Nathan gazed down at his phone to read Wesley's reply, feeling absolutely no comfort in it what so ever but hey - he tried. Just before he shoved his phone in his pocket he saw Adelitas name pop up on the screen. For a moment he felt anger fill through him, then disappointment. He opened it up and just sighed a bit, Well the tables gone. I'm away to the pub. he hovered on the send button for a few moments before clicking send and pushing the door open of the bar. "Can I get a pint please?" he said to the bartender as he popped his butt up onto the stool, the perfect position for watching the end of whatever football match was on the telly. Truthfully, he didn't give a shit about the sport, but he was definitely not ready to go home and probably hear the other two flriting away after he just got stood up.

Adelita could feel the guilt eating her up. The self esteem boost she'd had was fast fading and her guts felt like they were going to fall out of her belly button, that's if they didn't knot themselves together first. I know I'm too late. But if you haven't eaten I'd like to cook us dinner. I understand if you don't. She simply sent. Glancing at herself in the mirror, just hoping this beautiful outfit wouldn't go wasted. She found herself wanting to impress Nathan more and more and though consciously she'd never admit to it, her feelings were always beating in the back of her mind like a constant drum. Leaving her room she locked the door and headed to the communal kitchen, slumpin hereelf a the table.

Nathan sipped on his beer, feeling his phone buzz in his pocket. He left it alone for about five minutes before slipping it out and placing it on top of the bar. His eyes lingered over her message before finally responding, just don't give me food poisoning he hit send and downed the remainder of his beer before jumping down from his seat and walking home. Around twenty minutes later he slipped through the front door. Dumping his jacket and wallet on the sofa and dropped himself down on to it. Part of him wanted to find Ad straight away but after the shocking display this evening he didn't want to seem desperate for her, it was now her time to step it up.

Adelita didn't have much of an appetite any more, her night had been ruined by, well, her own attitude and selfishness, throwing away her friendship because of some gang who seemed to think they owned her. Her he's done lifted heading the front door and it felt as if every nerve in her system froze and she turned her head, hoping he'd come and greet, that he wouldn't raise his voice. Her temper wasn't well controlled and though it wasn't his fault, she was sure to find a way to argue. Clearing her thrown, she began in dinner, a simple chicken and pasta dish that was her speciality, along with some home made garlic bread. Something she'd not done for a long time. But the tension that was building in the silence was unbearable.

When Adelita didn't come through Nathan couldn't help himself anymore, he had missed her so much even though he felt let down, so he got up and walked into the kitchen. He swallowed, hard, before opening his mouth, "so this is where you are hiding?" he said with a small smile on his lips before walking over to the food she was cooking and took a sniff, "smells delicious." he laughed a little before grabbing a bottle of wine out of the cupboard and sitting it on the counter top along with two glasses of wine.

Adelita felt extremely on edge and opened her mouth a couple of times, but no words seemed to fall from she lips. Her gums dry. She felt like she was choking, like someone had their fingers pressed against her neck. And not in a good way. Turning her head when she heard Nathan's footsteps she gave him just a small smile, clearing her throats before turning back to the pan of fried veg that she was cooking, adding a few more spices into the mix. Her Spanish background made her love for spices deep and often would burn other people's mouths off. "Not hiding, just.. thinking." She said quietly, not particularly wanting to make eye contact with him.

Nathan looked over at her, was she.. annoyed at him? "Thinking huh? " he said, in a bit more of a pissed off way than he had meant it to come out but hell, it was out now. "right." he finished before even thinking. Grabbing their fancy bottle opener out of the drawer he fiddled away with the wine bottle, finally getting the cork out and pouring some wine into both of the glasses. The tension in the kitchen was horrible and he didn't entirely understand what was going on anymore. Tonight was suppose to be this amazing evening and they would finally hit it off as more than friends yet.. here they are.. in silence in their kitchen.

Adelita was simply trying to stay neutral no emotion. He heart was faltering and she simply didn't want to let him kniwnjust how terrible she felt. Lie she should have been begging in her knees for mercy, for his forgiveness. She just wasn't that type of person. "Yeah.. just thinking. That's allowed isn't it? Or are you going to pretend you're not oissed off st me for that too?" Her tongue often got her into trouble but with Nathan, she really liked to push her limits, see how far until he was over he the edge. She plated up the veg and added the tomato pasta and slices of chicken breast, the plating up a little more forceful than it needed to be. If only he'd let her give an explanation, she'd be able to come up with something.

Because I had such a fucking great time sitting there WAITING for you. I didn't even getting a message from you to say you weren't going to bother showing up. How fucking hard could that of been from you?!" Now he was just angry, she had pushed him too far. He was always so calm and patient with her, even when she went to jail and he was sending her money to buy sweets from commissary when the rest of her friends and family let her hanging dry and alone. Yet this is how he gets treated? mugged about and treated like shit.
