Layla fleet her phone virbating and grinned when she heard who it was on the other line. "Hey Lou. What's up?" She asked. Layla and Louisa had been best friends since she could remember and she was the one friends who she trusted completely. As her brother parked outside the school, she got out and asked where Louisa was.
"Oh, by the way, Soleia and Jess are coming round for dinner tonight, will you be home?" Her brother Jack asked her as she slung her bag over her shoulder. She thought about it and nodded, then smiled and waved him goodbye as he drove off. Layla was quite close with her family: her mother passed away a few days after she was born and she had always thought it was her fault but her older brothers always said it wasn't and loved and cared for her deeply. She was also close with Sam's wife Jess and Jack's girlfriend, Soleia. Growing up with 3 boys was hard, especially when it came to girly things like periods or bras or boys and she could talk openly to both girls. Her father was usually away on buissness trips and she missed him a lot. He promises to call his little princess everyday but he's just too busy.
Layla waits outside the school for her best friends and watched as three popular girls walked by, looking at her in disgust. Layla frowned and looked at herself, sighing as she thought she looked...well...fat. That's what she always thought. She made a note to eat less and jog more that day and wished she could be like the other girls: skinny, pretty and something a guy wanted.
She sucked at love.
Logan walked his way to school, not looking at people as they passed him by. Everyday, Logan felt small compared to them, like he was invisible: they were always happy and had the time of their lives whereas he was forced to stay at home and look after his ill mother. She wasn't ill exactly, she chose to be by forcing pills done her throat or sticking a needle in her arm. He shudderd at the thought and walked through the gates, walking past a few groups of girls and boys. He always felt like he was the shadow. He wished he could talk to someone how he felt but he had no one.
