STUBBORN

Everyone knows who your father is, he is the only club owner in a small town. Now your father is very cheap, and tries his best to cut edges to save as much money as he can. Leading to you having to work for your own father. You waitress at the club and spend most nights there, you are very familiar with the staff and often find yourself hanging out with them after hours. There's the one bartender who wants to have nothing with you, he won't even give you the time of day. Sure, you find him good looking, but all you want to do is have a decent conversation with him. One night, your father forces you to close the club, to your surprise the bartender is there. Nothing changes, he barely talks to you but says goodnight at the end of the night. As you walk outside it starts pouring rain, and you've realized you don't have an umbrella. Just as you're about to start walking, bartender boy pulls up and offers you a ride home in his car, he states that he feels bad. The ride home is quite, there is tension between the two of you, and you both sit in the quiet listening to the radio. As he pulls up to your house he grabs his umbrella and walks you to the door. As you're about to walk in he kisses you and the sparks start between the two of you. You unlock the door and you both of you explode inside. He stops himself before anything else happens, he explains that he does think you're beautiful but just simply can't be with you because of club rules. He walks out on you, will you manage to convince him to sneak around just so that the two of you can see where things go.

Tensley parked her car in the staff lot, her shift wasn't until later that night but she liked coming in early to go over some paperwork. Her father was the owner but was never there and trusted her to do basically everything even though she was barely paid. She grabbed her bag and kept her keys in her hand so she could unlock the door, it was the middle of winter so she rushed to the door and unlocked it. She noticed that one of the bartenders was already in and prepping for the evening. "Hey Tony" She said with a small wave and walked into the office. She wasn't sure what was wrong with Tony, but no matter how nice she was to him, he wouldn't give her the time of day. She sat down at the desk and grabbed her salad from her bag and started to eat as she made the schedule for the next few weeks.

Brooks stood at the bar, he was head bartender so he often had to come in early and make sure things were all ready to go for the night. Luckily for him, since he had to do inventory he had someone else to help him with the prep. "Perfect, now you can go ahead and start prepping all of the limes, I'm going to go back into the stockroom and count things" As he walked into the back stock room he bumped into Minx, she was gorgeous, but her father was his boss and work relationships were frowned upon. "Sorry." He mumbled and walked past her to go and count all of the stock they had. He hated doing inventory, since it took him most of the day and into the night.

He mumbled an apology before shuffling away again. "Hey, Brooks, are you-," he walked away before she could finish. Minx never could get a word out when he was around, he always shut her down. Rolling her eyes, Minx continued on with the task at hand.

Tony finished up with polishing the wood counter, the blue rag in his hand now all dirty and raggedy looking. Hearing the door open, he looked up to see Tensley walk in. She was the bosses daughter, and what seemed to be his replacement most of the time. She was beautiful, but working with coworkers was a no-go for him. Caused too much drama, and he wasn't for drama. Tensley waved at him, only for him to respond with a stiff nod before turning around and walking into the back. Busying himself while she was around was Tony's goal for every one of her shifts. It was just easier this way.

I can't guarantee I can give you all, but I can try to work stuff out." She hated asking people to look over what days they booked off and see if they could work rework some of the time off. "Sorry, I don't mean to take up your time, it's just basically everyone booked off next saturday, and I'm prioritizing who really needs it." She smiled softly, it was also an excuse to get them closer together for a few moments.

Brooks spent the next few hours not only counting stock, but organizing the inventory so it was all easy to access. He knew that by the next day things would be in ruins despite all of his hard efforts, he walked out of the stockroom to see more employees had piled in. He chatted with a few of them before returning his clipboard to Minx who now sat in her father's office. "Here, everything is counted for, and I've taken the time to organize the fridge and backroom, so please let everyone know to keep it that way." He stated as he walked back onto the floor and straight to the bar where he joined the other staff.

She'd think they'd help her out every once in a while, considering who her father was, but nope.

Tony shrugged at her apology, "it's fine." Pinching the bridge of his nose, he thought for a second. "Uhh," his eyes squinted shut for a second before he looked at her. "I believe I requested weekends off," he told her, finally gathering his thoughts. Taking another moment to think, Tony leaned against the counter with his arms crossed. He looked back up at her, "if that's too much of an issue, I can just take Sundays." That was his favourite part about being head bartender, he had first pick. Well, sometimes. It was a perk in the system, besides getting to look at Tensley everyday in the what-used-to-be-struggling place.

Brooks heard her call out after he had started walking away, he knew he couldn't say no to her. If he was being honest, he really enjoyed her company, but he couldn't get too close to her. His downfall was that he always let himself get attached to someone very quickly, and relationships in the workplace were frowned upon. "Uh yeah sure" he called out and walked back in her direction. He grabbed some of the bags with her "Hell, could you have put any more garbage in here?" He chuckled softly and opened the back door it was pouring rain. "Can you bring me the other ones and I'll bring them all out for you?" By the time he was done bringing them out he was soaked.

Tony was going to agree to her suggestion, but she started speaking again. Tensley asked to talk about it later, and he was going to say no, but he really wanted to. The more logical him in his head screamed against it over and over, but he, himself, nodded his head. A small, tight smile appeared, "sure," he told her, "I'll probably either be drunk or half dead so, forewarning." His little smile turned into a mischievous grin as he stretched into a straight standing position and went back into the kitchen to collect the remainder of the bottles he needed for drinks.

She had changed into a low cut black shirt and a black skirt, her father requested that they all wore black, by the time she made it back onto the floor it was pretty busy. She looked at the seating chart and claimed a section that she would tend to for the entire evening. Her first table were a rowdy group of men who clearly had been drinking prior to their arrival. "Shall I start you off with a pitcher of beer?" She listed off what they had and left once they had all made their different demands. She walked up to the bar, of course going to Tony first. "Care to fill out this order for me? Table 2, the rowdy guys?"

Brooks was a little annoyed that he was soaking wet since he's have to work like this for the next few hours. He glared at her when she mentioned him possibly staying out there for the night, it wasn't an idea he was fond of. "Yeah in your dreams." He said as he rushed inside, smirking. "Maybe I should shut the door on you, hurry up." He watched as she scrambled inside and shut the door locking it. "Now if you'll excuse me, I think I have some extra clothes in my locker that I'm going to change into so I don't have to spend my entire shift looking like this." He walked back into where staff kept their things and rummaged through his locker for a change of clothing.

Minx shuffled in behind him, and passed through the staff locker room to get to her fathers office. "Should stay with those soaked clothes," she jokingly suggested, "might rack up some more customers money if ya do." She winked, as a smirk appeared. Disappearing through the doorway, she headed straight to the office and shut the door behind her. Stripping the now soaked cropped hoodie and leggings she was sporting, Minx replaced it with tonight's outfit. A red, short sleeved shirt that hugged her comfortable and a pair of black jeggings. She slipped on a pair of black vans opened the cabinet door to reveal a travel-sized mirror. Minx fixed her hair before leaving the office and going out onto the floor. She placed her hands on her hips and sighed, they were opening in five minutes.

"All right, if you guys need a refill feel free to holler at me, or even walk over to the bar and they'd be happy to give you a refill on that." She turned to walk back to the bar, well more over to Tony when she bumped into an old friend of hers "Oh heyyyyy, yes I work here!" The two girls chatted for a bit before she walked back to the bar. "Ugh, I hated her back in school" She exclaimed when she got back.

Brooks chuckled when she mentioned him racking up more money if he stayed the way that he was, he wasn't even sure what to say. It was weird, the two of them were having such a good time, he really wished that he didn't have to let his feelings get in the way. Once he was more decent, he walked out onto the floor and straight to behind the bar. A few people had already packed in, but it wasn't anything that they couldn't handle without him. Within minutes, obnoxiously drunken girls were already there flirting with him and asking him for free drinks. "Sorry ladies, no can do." He really didn't like giving away drinks since it came out of his own pay. He kept a close eye on Minx, he always made sure that she was okay during the course of the night.

"I can actually be in a room with you for five minutes.. Well, sometimes," he joked. He threw back another shot as he shot a look towards an older woman cooing at him.

Minx faked a smile as she walked around her section, taking orders and attempting to settle rowdy customers. She squeeze back over to the bar, keeping her mouth shut and saying nothing to the college guys who came in here for the night. Her father warned her to keep it to herself and to just work through it when they touched her. Minx hated it, but they needed the business jumping to get through the expenses they had. "Glass of whiskey," she told Brooks, "oh, and here are the orders for the tables." She plopped onto a bar stool and waited for Brooks to get done with the drinks. "God, it sucks working on the floor." She let out a heavy breath.

She said very loudly and walked off, going into the back room, sometimes the job was really hard since she often got grabbed inappropriately by older men.

Brooks nodded and poured her a whiskey, and started filling the other orders. "I hate when people try to make modifications to their drinks, like less soda more alcohol?" he showed her the ticket. "This isn't Starbucks" He rolled his eyes and put them up on the tray for her. "I mean, you can work back here and deal with drunk sloppy girls who clearly used a fake ID to get in." Once he filled the orders, he grabbed the stack of papers and crumpled them in. "Have time for a shot before you run off again|?" He asked as he held up two shot glasses

Minx downed her whiskey, forcing her throat to not reject it after three swallows. She wiped a bit of liquid from above her upper lip with her thumb. She then pulled a face at the ticket, "why not just get it straight if you're going to just want a drop of soda?" She scoffed. She smiled at him, gently picking the shot glass from between his fingers, and threw it back gracefully. "Honestly, if you show me how to mix some drinks, after I get these out, and have someone cover my tables," she grinned, "I'd gladly join you there." Minx was starting to feel what she drank hit her.

Brooks watched her down the large glass of whiskey, she had been taking it like a champ, he made a few other drinks that had just come in and nodded. "Sure, I'll teach you how to make a few drinks. Go out and deliver those and I'll be able to show you how it's done." He smiled and watched as she walked off with her orders, while she was gone he poured them both of a shot and gathered up a few bottles, he smiled softly as she scurried to deliver all of the drinks that she had on the tray

Minx scurried off, balancing the serving tray on the palm of her hand as she hurried to deliver the drinks. She stopped to talk to one of the waitresses, asking them to take over her section, and they nodded happily. She hurried back over to Brooks and took off her apron from around her waist and made her way behind the counter. She noticed the shots on the counter and raised a brow, "ooooh, one of these for me?" Minx grinned as she threw it back and placed the empty glass on the counter. "So, what am I doing, boss?"

Brooks nodded when she asked if the shot was for her, he grabbed the other shot downed it. "Well, we just got orders in, so I'm going to show you how to fill them. So the first one is a vodka seven, so we're going to measure out one shot. So unless they specify, we use the cheapest stuff that we have." He chuckled and grabbed the bottle and helped her measure it. "And then you take the pop nozzle and fill it up." He worked the rest of the night and helped her make some drinks
