the characters:
Alwin:
Name: Benjamin ”Benji" Simmons.
Age: 18.
Mental health issue: Anorexia nervosa.
Brief character description: Benji was a pretty happy person before his eating disorder, but not eating and losing weight made him lose all his energy and now he just wants to sleep all day, but his friends come over to him every day and cheer him up a bit, take him with them on activities his body can handle, encourage him to at least eat something even when food makes him want to throw it all back up.
Background: Benji’s eating disorder had its beginnings when he was only 15. It came from pressure from his parents about his grades and his future, as well as people looking down on him. He took those looks as people thought he was fat, and felt the need to lose weight. So, he stopped eating. Told his parents he wasn’t feeling hungry or had homework to do when it was time for dinner, only ate a little bit at lunch and told his friends he had had a big breakfast when they questioned him about it.Eventually they noticed his way too big drop in weight, and decided to tell the school nurse, who contacted Benji and helped him get help from professionals. He was put on rehab, and stayed there for about a year before he was released, but he is on monthly checkups to make sure he’s not going back to the eating disorder.
Pastelice:
Name: Alexander "Alex" Montgomery
Age: 19
Mental health issue: Social anxiety
Sexual Orientation: Although Alex is leaning more boys than girls, he still isn't sure what his orientation is. He suspects he is pansexual, but for the time being he declines to put a label on it
Brief character description: Alex is actually a very happy, nice and energetic person, but in social places he gets very uncomfortable and sometimes even has panic attacks. Even the smallest thing puts him off, and meeting new people is the worst thing he knows. He's introverted mostly, although he loves his new-found friends and finds himself to be more open around them.
Physical Description: He is tan with a slightly tall figure at 5'11. He is skinny, although he has a chubby baby face. He has unruly black hair, with piercings lining his earlobe. His eyebrows are thick and his eyes are a warm brown. He has a simplistic and minimal style, and always wears his basic black old skool vans.
Background: Alex’s social anxiety was first detected when he got a panic attack when his parents wanted him to order food for himself when he was 13, although it's suspected he has had it his whole life due to bad social experiences with his peers in elementary school and bullying resulting from it. He has since gone to a psychiatrist once a week to talk about everything, and who also gives him challenges to finish until the next meeting.
Rouya:
Name: Theresa "Tessa" Reilly
Age: 18
Mental health issue: Aspergers
Brief character description: Tessa is a pretty quiet person, usually. She likes to keep to herself, and pursue her interests, especially filmmaking. She likes bringing a video camera with her wherever she goes, to record every day life, as she experiences it. At times she can get very eccentric when talking about certain topics, but mainly when talking about her special interest. She likes observing people, but prefers doing so through the camera, as it creates distance between her and the rest of the world. She loves animals, and has a cat called Norma at her parent's house, whom she lives with.
Physical description: She is pretty short of statue, reaching about 5'4 and has a slim figure with what could be described as a somewhat child-like body, lacking any prominent curves. She is fairly pale, and usually has pretty unruly hair. She prefers to wear tomboy-ish clothing, like jeans, converse and a t-shirt, usually with different movie prints on them, paired with a flannel shirt, her dads old leather jacket from when he was young and a necklace or two.
Background: She received her diagnosis when she was six years old, but has never been particularly interested in it. She is at peace with who she is, but faces difficulties with the people around her, as she has a tendency to be bad at communicating her thoughts, and sometimes can go non-verbal when stressed. She is seeing a psychologist specialised in ASD, to get help with her communication difficulties, and was recommended group therapy in order to practise communicating with strangers.
Alfie:
Name: Micah Théodore ‘Theo’ Enfield
Age: 20 years
Mental health issue: Schizophrenia
Brief characterdescription: Micah has got rather strong and sharp features. He has got a long and very slim nose, which is slightly crooked if you see it from profile. His eyes are small, but they come through very sharply because of the light greyish color, almost like ice. His cheekbones are tall, and rather pointy, while the part below (contouring cheek part) is deep set, which makes his face look very slim - Probably also too slim. Most of the time he uses his patchy beard to hide the facial features, that makes him look almost like a diseased person. His lips are very slim, and has a rosa color which makes a huge contrast to his very white skin (He doesn't get out that much usually)
As to his body, then he is very slim, and he looks very frail. Which he also is, again he doesn't get out much. Something that doesn't help with how his body appears is his height, it's not because he is awfully tall, but he is in the tall end of the average height for a guy his age.
His beard is not too long, but it still has some length - as mentioned to hide those dead features - how it is a bit patchy, which shows a lot because of the length of the beard. To get into color, then it's a ginger redish color - The kind often seen on blondes. The reason for this is because of his blond hair. His hair is long enough to hide his ears, but usually they can be seen since his hair is just one huge mess. He doesn't really keep up too much with his look, at least not for long periods but he tries to which explains the length of his hair.
His personality varies a lot, depending on how bad hisschizophrenia is. But usually when he feels somewhat free of it, he is usually a very happy boy. Maybe not the most extrovert person, but he does seem to joke around and have fun with friends - His problem is just that he is very bad at getting out and doing just that. He has never been great at keeping the ties with friends, mostly because in his bad periods he doesn't at all get out or communicate.
Background: Micah has not lived with his parents for a long while, actually he lived in a foster family as his biological parents weren't able to raise him properly, he was too much of a handful as they already had some problems of their own. This however does not mean that he isn't in contact with them, because he is and he sees them once in a while. Now he lives in his own apartment, which is a mess, but because of his age is no longer his foster parent's problem - Though they did offer him to be able to stay, they don't have a bad relationship. He just didn't want to be a burden.
He has been going to different therapy kinds since he very young, just to get somewhere where he could vent. Of course the later kind he has been attending to has been this group therapy. Even though he has been going to therapies from a young age he didn't get the diagnosis until he was 18.
