Elizabeth was sitting on her kitchen table, her legs crossed, eating cornflakes with warm milk and clotted cream. She finished it and got down, putting the bowl and spoon in the dishwasher and shutting it with her hip, she grinned a little, she wasn't particularly happy, it was just things like that that made her happier.

Sam was in bed, one leg out of the covers. He was awake, but he didn't want to get up, he had nothing to do in particular anyway.
