Lea chucked her suitcase down at the end of the bed and looked around at her new room for the year. She smiled softly. 'I'll sort that out later!' she thought to herself. For now, she wanted to meet anyone and everyone. This was her first real time away from home, a new sense of independence. She propped her door open and began to wander the hallway, hoping she would bump into someone.

Jamie had just finished unpacking his belongings and slumped down on his bed. He sighed, heavily. He was so glad his mum had been there to do most of the unpacking, he had no idea how he would have got it all done on his own. Now his mum had left, he was finally alone for the very first time. He closed his eyes before hearing movement outside his room.

Alec grinned as he stood with his older brother outside the student building that would be his new home. He'd been looking forward to this for as long as he could remember. It was just him and his brother, it pretty much always had been so it felt weird to say goodbye but he knew it would be good for them both. ''See you later, bro.'' he said giving his brother a bro hug before walking inside. He had a feeling this was going to be the best year, especially with a mad freshers week on the horizon.

She glanced at the girl she was talking to, excited to finally meet someone that she would be living with. No-one wants to be the loner in the flat!" he said quietly to himself before opening his door and walking out. He could see there were three people all looking between eachother. "Hi guys!" he said, waving as he walked towards them. "I'm Jamie!" he grinned.

Alec headed up the stairs to the flat and stepped inside, his small suitcase in hand. He hadn't prepared well at all. He'd have to go and do a big shop and got a load of essentials at some point. He wasn't bothered, he was more excited about getting to know his flat and planning out how they would spend their first night of freshers week. ''Ayup,'' he said as he noticed three other people, including the prettiest girl he had ever seen. ''I'm Alec.'' he said as he put his case down. It all felt a bit awkward, knowing that they were complete strangers but were about to start living together.

At the mention of Freshers, however, he chirped up a bit. "Freshers is the reason I'm here!" he laughed. "Go hard or go home! he said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm ready!" he grinned at his new flatmates. "SU?" he asked. He couldn't think of a better way to get to know the people he'd be spending the next year with, than over a pint.. or a couple. And it would give him a chance to get to know the pretty girl!

Once they got to the pub he ordered himself a beer.

Jamie agreed to a trip to the pub, what better way to get to know people? When they all got to the SU he ordered himself a pint of beer before turning to the group. "Shall we sit outside?" he asked, as it was such a nice day. The SU was busy and even though there was a few spare tables around, he thought it might be nice to sit in the sun and get to know everyone. And then he could people watch even more too!

Ava grinned as they got there drinks, she finally felt a bit more relaxed and free as she took the first sip of her drink. This was the start of her freedom and getting away from her past. This was going to be the best year, she could tell. “So what course are you guys doing?” She asked as she took a seat outside, sighing happily as she felt the sun beat down on her face. This day could not have been more perfect, so far she had great flatmates and the atmosphere with all the freshers was amazing.

Alec smiles “Ahh I should have known with the accent. Been down to Bristol a few times. I’m from good old sunny Sheffield,” he said with a grin. He loved where he was from, it was such a nice big city. But he’s never known anywhere else so he was looking forward to getting to know somewhere new. “What made you come to this uni?” He asked Lea as he sat down. He just wanted to know more about her

Lea nodded her head softly. "Yeah, it's normally a dead give away!" she said softly. It was true, her accent was normally what people remembered her for, but she didn't mind. She'd learned to love it. "Oh lush, I've never actually been to Sheffield!" she continued. She thought for a moment. "I guess, the whole atmosphere really. And the city.. it just feels so friendly here! What about you?" As she followed the group out and sat at the table, the sun shone down on her face. It wasn't overly hot but the sun was shining so it was still nice out. She was sat next to Alex so they could continue their conversation but she looked at Ava quickly. "I'm studying primary education!" she said with a small smile.

Jamie had nearly finished his drink by the time they had sat down, it didn't take him long to drink a pint at all - it was probably all the practice he'd had! He took a moment to take in everything that was going on around him, and appreciate the buzz of people. Everyone was so different, but still getting on, and it was unlike anything he had ever experienced before. He sighed happily, before his attention coming back to the group. "Business and event management! What about you, Ava?" he said with a small smile.
