Christine ran a comb through her wet hair as she rushed out of the shower. She was late for school, which meant that her family probably already left to work and school. She sighed, trying to put together an outfit for the day. She quickly just grabbed a light wash pair of jeans and a cream colored sweater. She wasn't up for trying today, and honestly she couldn't wait to just get back home that day after school and sleep. Christine didn't bother applying any makeup, she was too busy worrying about how to get to school. She quickly grabbed her stuff and ran downstairs. Sure enough, everyone was gone. Her mom left a note for her, reading that she could just take the school bus that day. Christine rolled her eyes, knowing that she would never step foot on the bus. It was smelly and filled with annoying freshmen. Even though she was a sophomore, she was friends with juniors and seniors, so freshman year seemed ages ago. She sighed again and locked the front door behind her. Suddenly, she remembered that she could just carpool with Tyson who was her long-time friend and neighbor. She smiled a bit and walked over to his house, knocking on the front door.
Lewis sat down at the dining room table with an apple and a piece of toast. He normally didn't have breakfast, but he just randomly decided to actually eat that day. He had his phone next to him, so he started checking his messages and social media sites. He had one message from a guy friend of his, featuring a photo of Aria and some junior guy getting pretty frisky at a party. He frowned a bit and took a deep breath. He continued eating his breakfast while he thought of Aria. All of a sudden, she seemed like such an adult when it felt like last year, she was almost like his little sister. He remembered all of their childhood games, the way they used to think that they were superheroes saving the tome. But now, here she was, basically slutting it up with some son of bitch. She at least deserved better; she deserved someone who actually knew all of the little quirks about her. Like the fact that she took exactly three packets of sugar, no more no less, in her coffee. Or that she has an obsession with animals because her grandmother was part of an animal rescue team. He sighed and deleted the message, not wanting that picture on his phone at all. It was too much for him to see. He didn't want to admit to himself, but he knew deep down that he actually had feelings for Aria now. And more than just a friend, of course.
