uh for one couple it could be like, he was saying he was working more but she never believed him or whatever, and so she presumed he was cheating when he was always hiding his phone from her and stuff. turns out he was in fact working extra hours to save up so he had the money to buy her an engagement ring and some money towards the perfect winter wedding  - where he had already booked the date, which happens to be when they're in the cabin, because it would have been enough time for him to save up enough money to pay for it.

the other once could be like, when they first started going out he did actually kiss another woman when he was at a party, but that was when they were a lot younger, and since then she hasn't really trusted him at all around other girls and was very possessive of him. anyway, it came to him going to another party and nothing went on, but there was a lot of rumours coming from his friends saying something happened, and basically it became too much for her ad she split up with him. :3

effy's car trudged through the piles of snow, her eyes glaring through the windshield, trying to see. ice covered the glass, but she could make out a nice sized cabin off the side. turning her wheel, she slid a bit trying to make it into the long driveway, trees whistling over her. pulling up, she realized the other housemate had already arrived, their car being next to the house. she rolled her eyes a bit thinking about who it might be, if it was one of those caddy bitches she'd put 'em in line. before opening the door, she made sure to put her hood up and grabbed whatever bags she could take, she didn't pack much. making her way up the wood stairs, she slid the key into the lock and opened it, looking inside. the fireplace was running and a rush of hot air hit her face. "hello?" her voice echoed a bit as she kicked off her boots and headed up the stairs. 

chase had been at the cabin for a day now already, and there was no sign of another housemate yet. but he didn't mind so much. he hadn't been around many people lately - guys for that matter, and wasn't interested in having to deal with them, especially around christmas time. he had been working his ass off lately and just wanted to be alone and relax. his husky pup chance hopped up onto his lap as he flicked through the television stations blindly. the fire roared as a bell rung, his coffee was done. he set chance down and stood up, sliding his way across the hardwood floor. being in nothing but pajama pants was extremely comfortable, no more suits for him. he heard a knock at the door and turned around sharply.

eleanor got out of her dad's car. when she split up with chase a while a go, she had moved back in with her parents. she was very naive and gullible and so she thought it was best. plus she hadn't really moved on from him at all. she kissed his cheek and took her bags, quickly walking up to the cabin, being cautious not to fall over in the mounds of snow. she pulled her hood off and then knocked on the door, clearing her throat. the light was on, indicating someone else was there, so didn't want to be rude and just barge in. that wasn't like her. even if this was her holiday, too. she scrunched her nose up and waited. she was extremely excited.

eleanor's heart sunk as she saw who exactly it was that she would be sharing this cabin with. chase he ex boyfriend. damn it, why was this happening for? he had broken her heart and she thought he had cheated, and she never really wanted to see him again. that was what she had told him. she felt a lump form in her throat, her hands shaking, shivers running down her spine. it wasn't long before she realised he had taken her bags, and she nodded, clearing her throat. "mm.. you took a while to answer the door." was all she said, as she stepped inside the cabin, glancing around. it was beautiful inside. wooden decor, with a cosy christmas tree in the corner - presumably put there by the owner, and a log fire too. "what are you doing here, chase?" she asked him finally.
