Roleplaying problems

You have some really good roleplayers and then you have the.... not so good ones. There are just some things us roleplayers have to deal with. Like my biggest pet peeve is when I write like three paragraphs and then the person replies with one sentence. Ugh..... That's not okay, it's just not okay. Post below any problems you might experience when you roleplay.

Just reading this made me think. :p I hate when you put twenty minutes into a roleplay message, just for the other person to read and not reply. I understand if it's a short message to not reply to, but not when I put a lot of my time just for one message that I could clearly get a reply from someone else.

I absolutely hate trying to find / come up with plots. It seems like most of them are hard to keep going and the story lines end really fast.

Right? I find that I have to tweak every single plot I come across. I'm trying to search and write more plots but it's just hard ya know?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Eh, it doesn't bother me when people take a long time to reply.

Something else that bothers me is when people want you to do EVERYTHING. They want you to find the plot, pick their characters and start. Like that is just too much, it needs to be an even balance within roleplaying.

When everyone wants to play out their characters as being the victim in every single situation. or when they want every single detail to be prone to perfect love.

I hate when people suddenly just join a roleplay and decide that their characters are going to be with each other or they write to themselves, I'm sorry but that's a story not a roleplay.

i hate how men seem to have absolutely no backbone in almost all the plots, and the girls basically treat them as their bitch and they get angry at them for no reason and then the plot revolves around how men have the cross the mystic desert for forgiveness. no. just because you have no social life does not mean you i have to partake in your creepy fairy tale.

I completely get where you're coming from but yeah, some people find it difficult to come up with large paragraphs. I know I struggle a lot sometimes and sometimes it is easier to put just a few lines.
but if a person is constantly having the girl as the victim it pisses me of
and the guy being sweet but an asshole
like
idk
if you write a bio for a character stick to it

Although I don't RP much, I dislike overly descriptive paragraphs and prefer to focus on dialogue and events, rather than spending 3 lines talking about how the female character softly brushed her hair out of her eyes.
I also hate it when the other person doesn't really make anything happen but they wait for you to make the things happen.

I agree with both. Overly long paragraphs are not needed because when I see them, they are filled with unnecessary detail. I hate one liners, but when I see 25 lines and most of them are about a house or clothes, no. Sometimes, five lines is good. Second, there's a main plot. The plot will have to branch out and when you complain and say it's getting boring, that does not make it not boring. Oh and sappy girls and guys who are alcoholics and jerks, but are somehow very sweet. No. Oh and people need to start writing new plotsss.

Personally, I love receiving a long reply filled with good detail. It allows me to get a better idea of the characters and paint a mental picture in my head. It's much better than a few lines filled with a few words. It's nice to know what's going through that characters head and maybe even a little back story. I don't know, maybe thats just me. I work hard on my replies it sometimes bums me out to see someone just throw a reply together that is only like two sentences ya know?

This this this!

Also, I guess this kind of goes along with Mary Sues (if that's even the right term, haha) - I like characters with an elaborate background that works its way into the roleplay. Every time I get into a roleplay, I like to plan out a back story for my characters that will influence their thoughts and actions. I don't like putting biographies with my characters on my website because I feel like it's too restricting, I don't always want Jane Doe to be an actress wannabe and John Doe to be a badass womanizer. You know what I mean? Does anyone honestly follow by those biographies 100% of the time anyway?

Not bashing on anyone, I'm just stating my preferences. What you choose to do and how to roleplay is entirely up to you, even if it frustrates me haha. If the roleplay is worth it, I'm willing to put up with it.

Well I used to roleplay in 'Decor' on gsm but I've never forum roleplayed before, I might try it tommorow but problem is all the good looking roleplayed are at night for me and I'd prefer day ones.
