Jillian had just gotten off of the plane and was headed to claim her suitcase on the conveyor belt. She hadn't had much luck with the belt before; she had flown to a relative's wedding the year before and the airline completely lost her bags, meaning that she went to the wedding in a shirt from the gift shop at the hotel. She anxiously chewed at her lip while she waited, not wanting to miss her bag. She made sure to tie some colored ribbon to the zipper pulls so that it would be easier to identify. She eventually spotted it and went to squeeze through the massive group of people crowding around the belt when she stopped dead in her tracks. A soft fingertip gently pressed against her exposed shoulder, almost wedged under her tank top. At first, she figured someone had just bumped into her, but when someone with the most slight of Australian accents called her name, her breath hitched in her throat. She swore she knew that voice from somewhere. She grabbed her bag quickly and spun around, hoping to identify the stranger that was looking for her. Her brow furrowed when she came face to face with a man she didn't quite recall. He stood confidently, his edgy haircut accentuating his features and his strong hands wrapped around his guitar case. "I'm sorry, how did you know my name?" she asked him, not sure why he had such a beautiful smile on his face.
Owen drummed his fingers against the cafe table while he waited for his flight to begin boarding. He was a bit nervous to start his music career in Melbourne, but he knew that it would be for the best. He slid off his beanie and stuffed it into his pocket, exposing his naturally curly hair. It struck him at that moment how he would need to get a haircut as soon as he possibly could. He looked like a ten year old boy that rain for the hills whenever his mom brought out the scissors to cut his hair. He glanced up from his seat and noticed a strangely familiar body walking down the corridor. He knew that girl anywhere - it had to be Candice! He rose from his chair instantly, aware that he didn't have much time to waste anymore, but that didn't matter. His heart ached because he had never realized how much he had actually missed her up until this point. He tried to discreetly follow her to see where she was going but she was too fast. Eventually, she stopped to claim her luggage and he approached her. "Candice?" He asked, hoping she would turn around. Her hair was a different color than when he had last seen it a few years prior, but he wondered if it still smelled like strawberries like he had loved. Was she still frequently found with her nose in a book and a glass of iced tea? Oh, how he hoped so. He wanted so badly for someone to accompany him to his audition and maybe he had just struck gold.
